It's now been six months since this:
I Survived A Hurricane In The Mountains
This is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever written/posted in my almost 70 years of existence. I have not posted here on ICM in over 2 months because Harley and I survived a fucking _hurricane_ in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Unfortunately, my growing companion for the last 5.5...www.icmag.com
What I have learned in that time,
1) A day is barely better than an hour, a week is better than a day, a month is much better than a week and six months is about the same as a month.
Most important lesson,
2) Let go of what was, accept what is.
Almost forgot to mention, forest fires now raging all around us, we're in the Begin Preparations To Evacuate area as of this morning:
After what we've been through the last six months, Harley and I can handle fucking _anything_.
And to keep it OT here in the sub, here's an appropriate standard music video that fits the situation:
I couldn't watch the Dobe' video man... brings painful memories right back to the surface. It's been 3 years since my good boy passed (he was a Pitty, not a Dobe') but certain things bring back that raw emotion. RIP Rusty, RIP Star. Good boys.
