I was a 7th grader at the junior high dance with local hip folks playing this in their band, and I stepped on the main power cord, shutting down the whole works for a little bit. No holes to properly hide in could be found in that moment of shock, embarrassment and panic, but if there'd have been as much as tiny mouse hole in the wall, I'd have tried to fit into it.
It was one thing to be shy enough to fear being asked to dance or to ask someone to dance, but to shut down the show through early adolescent clumsiness... Probably led to drug use later in life.
