I think the Heavy Horses album is the best they ever did.

Years later there was a live compilation album I have here on cassette tape, 'A Little Light Music'. I think I posted it here not that long ago. Starts with what sounds a lot like some classic 12-bar blues.

HUM with their Magnus opus Inlet... It's like a love letter to those of us still left here in post hardcore. Trippy, introspective, hopeful while also glum, it's like HUM never left and have been crafting their sound all along. Overall much more simplified and relatable and catchy from a group who were always the artists artist. A true labor of form.

Polyphia: say what u want, but it takes a certain amount of prodigal musicianship to make a guitar based band exciting enough to not even bother with lyrics. And fuckin A, the lead guitarist go to method of playing is slap... Guitar. No not bass, just reg guitar. They just had Vai do a song with them, and if Vai signs off I got nothing but love for these kids. Like it or not they're carrying on the tradition of rock when almost everyone else has failed to reinvent the genre.

Peel dream magazine: these kids are so cool I feel like it's the 3rd coming of the summer of love but obviously with the dash of Manson grunge introduced... Yet it oddly seems not too bothered by the Manson aspect, and comes off incredibly happy and free.
For real if u haven't heard this band go watch their video for pill... I'll wait. Now tell me that isn't contagious(ok well maybe if u only listen to rap)

Been listening to alot of juice wrld, o3 greedo (disco shit), and alot of biggie...

And for some reason ive been listening to all the hits off make yourself from incubus and just being mesmerized by how untouchable this band was back then when damn near everything they conceived was not only sickenly catchy, but thought provoking in a way most popular bands didn't get near. Like, thought provoking like rage but in a much more subtle and expansive way.

Honorable mentions :
Apology from Clarissa
Vendetta from tugboat Annie
Semi charmed life from 3rd eye blind
The ballad of Johnny butt and burritos from sublime
