The act of "smoking" is quite probably, medically speaking, the most harmful aspect of cannabis use/ dosage/ titration and so from that percieved neccessity came the various innovations and the rediscovery of various alternative delivery methods... (Vaporizers, tinctures, baked goods...etc. HOW TO USE MEDICAL CANNABIS...

I believe the wildly pervasive negative stereotype given to marijuana smokers is one of, if not the biggest reason keeping marijuana from becoming legal in the United States.
The "marijuana induced stupidity"syndrome personified by the famous "Daves not here man" situational comedy dialogue spiel is the actual mainstream perception of a marijuana smoker even to this day...three decades later.
The ye olde Cheech and Chong "stoopid ass stoner" stereotypes, you know man, is like the biggest bummer going, you know man,
as far as the the more conservative, mainstream majority political elements perceptions are concerned...and they generally all tend to vote...and that's really about the biggest bummer their is when it comes down to the decriminalization/ legalization of Cannabis by the ballot process.
Can you dig it?
Cannabis is not the gateway to instant ignorance as some would have the masses believe.
Sure their are many "stupid stoners", but I dare suggest that many were destined to that perception of stupidity by others irrespective of whether they had ever smoked pot.
"Stupid is as stupid does" as some guy named Forrest Gump said once.
The current insatiably ravenous cannabis witch-hunt occuring on this planet is keeping (by intentional design) many would be vocal supporters AFRAID of speaking up and becoming a victim of "Tall Poppy Syndrome" where they would be singled out of the crowd for various govermental persecutions for supporting cannabis use, be it for compassionate medical purposes or even "tax and regulate" recreational use such as the ballot initiative they are currently trying to pass in Nevada.
The post WW2 baby boomers (Gramma and Grampa these day's) have "discovered" that Cannabis is not just for a buzz at home on a Saturday night anymore, but an actual medically effective, long term, non-toxic treatment for the various inevitable ailments that come's with one's old age...particularly when it comes to compassionate Palliative medical care situations.
