What Makes it 'Medical Grade' ???

A friend and I had a small discussion on medical pot, how the same strain can be completely different depending on the nutrients. He was referring to a local grow where theres several strains but they used different nutrients, some nutrients made it medical, some just made it chronic/headies.

I am wondering what makes it medical grade?

Obviously you need a good strain, so you get a strain with medical potential... then what?

Setup a pro grow room with proper heat, humidity, lighting and co2... then what?

What nutrients do medical growers use?

Is there anything I am missing?

Medical Grade = Organic flushed, not harmful, grown as naturally as possable
Heads = Chemical, may or may not be flushed but still has chemical taiste. The buds sometimes just don't seem natual etc.

would growing with Botanicare's Pure Blend original + Liquid Karma be considered organic?

Can you use Botanicare's Clearex to effectively 'flush the soil', they say if you use clearex you don't need to flush. true?

Yes it would as the pro has very few chemicals added and the origonal none and i have used both ... if you just flush with water for 7 days in hydro that should be a good enough flush in soil you may want to double that. The pure blend i noticed brings out the taiste, and LK put on the trics and frost. The only thing you may give up is yeild but quality is awlays beter.

Make sure you flush you don't want to be smoking nutes.

Im confused how do you flush for 7 days?? Is flushing just feeding them water and no nutes?

I thought flush was when you run like a gallon of water through the soil and let it all drain to rid the soil of excess salts and nutrient build up?

edit: I would be doing soil, I was under the impression soil gives you the best quality and aromas, correct?

and don't think im a newb, ive grown a couple times just it wasnt really a serious grow that i dedicated much effort or money to. I know more than most ppl about this stuff, i just lack experience, hence i dont know what flushing is because ive never really gotten to the harvest point completely successfully, lol

by flushing all he means is straight water, no nutes last 2 weeks before harvest.

so last 2 weeks, just water them, no nutes.

Oh I see, thank you for clearing that up.

I think im thinking of leaching the soil when you run a lot of water through it and let it drain to rid it of nutrient buildup.

lol good point, good point
he had pics tho and they looked pretty nice

My plan is this for organic lineup for medical pot using medical potential seeds:

Pure Blend Original Grow & Bloom
Liquid Karma
Kelp
Dolomite Lime
Greensand
Budswel
Blackstrap Molasses

think i will get medical grade using that? i want the best possible quality
it will be HPS, Co2 enriched, 85-90 degrees, controlled environment

Does Greensand give the plants iron?
Taken from a website:
Down to Earth New Jersey Greensand
Made from a natural deposit of marine origin found in New Jersey, this potash and iron rich (20.57%) natural fertilizer helps hold moisture and loosens compacted soils.

Also, does molasses give the plant iron? I read it does

what the heck dose med grade smoke have anything to do with what its feed
i would say what makes a strain of canibis a med strain would be TCH content the higher percentage the better.

Medical grade is a nifty term coined when medical marijuana became more widely known,I see it as a feeble attempt to somehow "legitimize" erb for medical reasons, the words very existence shows how hard the "med" community is trying to make MJ become more mainstream.I believe in marijuana as medicine without question, but saying one is "medical" while another may not be belies the fact that there is "party marijuana" out there, thats why the whole thing just bothers me a bit.

organic, chemical....its all about the genetics man. you still have alot to learn. the only reason why organic can be smelly/flavorful is because of the biological processes that go on with the organics. the main difference between organic and chemical is in chemical, the nutes are available in their raw form all the time, and in organic, they are not, the nutes are released at a slower pace. and flushing a chemical grow will not still leave you with a chemical taste (in fact, chemical tastes usually come from over feeding). if you want more flavors and taste, you can supplement chemical with organics, carbs, sweeteners, enzymes, etc.

I prefer "mindfuck" grade personally but only because of tolerance issues lol.I really believe that a strain that may help one person for glaucoma may have no effect on another, although some strains are supposed to be "specialized" for a certain malady or supposed to be effective for a certain illness again is an attempt at legitimization,of which I totally approve just dont really buy into lol.Hey anything to get the guy off my back that wants and lives to cage me I'm in favor for lol.Its just too bad we have to play games at all with something so positive

Some of the shittiest smoke I have had is better than marinol pills. When my Dad was sick, he was prescribed Marinol. I took some just to see what it did and it did nothing to me. I took 2 more than prescribed and felt nothing. I dont think that is right....

I flowered one of my northern lights plants at 10 weeks. Its usually an 8 week strain. I let it go because I wanted more of a sedative effect. It works very well compared with the stuff harvested normally.
