A favorite movie...that's kinda hard to pick. The Departed just came out this week, if you didn't see it in theatres I suggest you check it out. It's not my favorite movie of all time, but it was excellent.

If you're looking for a comedy, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou(sp) didn't get released in a lot of theatres. I'm a huge Murray fan, and this is one of his more intelligent comedies. Bubba Ho Tep was another recent comedy, that I thought was original and entertaining. The premise alone is hilarious.

The man with no name series (Fistfull of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good the Bad and the Ugly) are fairly well known, but not everyone has seen them. If you like Westerns these are a must.

If you need a straight up action film, The Killers is an older John Woo movie. It pretty much propelled him to fame in China. It's some what cheesy, and the plot's merely mediocre, however if you're into 'B Movies' check it out.

I see you're from America, so you may not have much interest in soccer, however Green Street Hooligans is an excellent drama based around the soccer gangs in London. I too am from America, so it may not be that realistic (I have no first hand expereince), but it was interesting. Plus I find Tobey Mcguire is much more believable as a journalist than Spiderman.

If you don't mind subtitles, City of God is a truely inspiring movie based around the child gangs of Rio Di Janeiro. The story transcends language, and after awhile you'll forget you're even reading along.

I spent a lot of my summers in Mass visiting my sister. I gotta say that the movie was pretty realistic, and did a good job capturing you average masshole. And while I love the movie, and think it should hands down win at every category at the Oscars (I know it wasn't nominated in every category, but who cares). However it's too soon to name it best movie of all time. Maybe after I see it for the 20th time my opinion will change, but for now it's just the best movie of the last couple years...not all time.

Either way I'm glad you liked it.

I was thinking about movies, and another title popped into popped into my head. An Inconvenient Truth was a pretty good documentary, I think it was a bit over dramatic and sappy in spots but overall well done. And coming from a guy who hated Al Gore (not as much as Bush mind you) it takes a lot to give him props. It didn't get a wide release, so perhaps it'll be in one of the 10% of the movies you haven't seen.

i never said " best movie of all time", i said it was the best movie I've ever seen. i think mark wahlberg was one of the standouts. he's come a long way since posing in his undies.

I knew this movie was going to be awesome as soon as matt damon said " fuckin fiyamen are a buncha queers." in a perfect boston accent.

Hmmm favorite movie would have to be City of God. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Its all in subtitles but it really adds to the grimey feel of the movie.

As far as comedies I'd say super troopers is my fav..."hey, you, bearfucker!"

I can't really think of anything in the last three years that tops it. The Lord of the Rings were good movies...however they had their flaws, I own all of them but I'm not that large of a fan (books were much better). Syriana and Crash were both awful movies. Syriana more so than Crash, Crash was at least watchable for some bits. My memory gets kinda hazy trying to remember all the "acclaimed" movies, so perhaps I've straight up forgot some masterpieces.
