pro-mix with 25-50% perlite, It dries out kinda fast cause it's so light but root growth is really good if you have the time to hand water a little more. Sometimes I'll mix in some bone and blood meal (1cup each per 1-2 cubic feet), other than that I feed by using liquid ferts.
Pro-mix can be found at Home Depot but you might not be able to get it now (seasonal) it's a soiless peat mix, it has perlite added but I add extra.
I used Ocean Forest....great soil. Have to travel way too far to buy it @ $20/bag. Using Pro-Mix now. Less expensive. Readliy available. PhillyKid got it right about the dryness of the Pro-Mix, roots great, just needs frequent watering, especailly if using large pots. So far, I'm impressed w/the results I'm getting.
Success w/ya grow.
Stay safe.
hy guys...my favourite recipe for indoor is :
50\60%--professional mix(biobizz or plagron are so good!!)
20%--Zeolite(a vulcanic stone so light and containing P-K..and more micros..and is a ph stabilizer)+vulcanic lapils powdered+vermiculite
10% horses and beef worm casting..
10% humus+leonardite
plus i like to add for VEG (dried-blood),and for flowering (guano 2-12-2..and more)
.......if it possible mix alittle bit of river's sand(for building uses!!!!!!!).....
for stabilize the ph during the flowering with no repotting i use to add zeolite in powder form(is contain a good source of silicates)....
sunshine bale #2 or 4
bone meal
blood meal
worm casting
high n bat guano
high p bat guano
oyster shell
dolomite lime
kelp meal
pertlite
mix that up then soak it with water with weak liquid karma in it a few weeks before using, liquid karma breaks down and mixes everything together on a molecular level...its good stuff to use when watering as well.
I've only seen it sold in 1 and 2 cubic foot bales, stored in the yard with the other giant bags of topsoil, peat moss, humus, manure, etc. But as stated above, it's pretty seasonal, so you may not see it till March.
I use pro mix hp and find it to be a good soil less mix..i get it in 3 cubic feet bags loose fill from my hydro store..i amend it with fox farm big and chunky and jamacian high phosphorus guano.. at transplant i use plant succsess mycorrhizal grandular mix under each cutting...
Sunshine Pro Mix #1 is very good for seedlings and as a general soil. As many do in here i would add something to it for long term Vegging and for flowering. Many products to choose from try to stay away from the chemical additives. Good Luck Jubei
Should anything be added to FF ocean forrest?
And can it be used outside as well? Im a hydro man but want to grow outside and have good results.. peace
You can mix it with the top soil but you will need to ad food when you water. I would mix Ocean Forest with Pro-Mix 1 but Ocean Forest is good stuff. Good Luck check out Badmf's thread on Hands-free outdoor. Its a really good one. Hes a pro. Have fun!
Thanx Jubei for the reply. I found BadMFs' thread. Very imformative..
Would anyone mix in perlite with FF Ocean forrest.
Or just as it is out of the bag.? peace...
Doesnt BOG have a Organic recipe somewhere here. I did a search and found nothing.. Does anybody have that info? Always tryin to learn something here ya know. peace..
