Southern Spain, about 30 miles north-west of Malaga.
About 30 years after the "Twin Owls" climb... Lots of climbs in between...

No name, just looked like a fun climb..
From where the first picture is taken, it was about 7 hours for the round trip..including a 1 hour break at the top...

The Adirondack peaks, about 23 of them. Some in the Rockies and White Mountain and some hills in New Hampshire.

Unfortunately I do not trust my ankles and knees anymore to do any long hikes.

Favorite is Gothic Mountain in the ADK.

I hiked/climbed The Billygoat Trail in Great Falls, VA while wearing a pair of 3" high purple suede clogs and carrying my purse and my beagle.

Never again, ever, you don't realize it at the time and nobody tells you, you just think you're taking a scenic shortcut following along high above the Potomac river.

....... until 1/2 way to the parking lot and it's starting to get dark and you're committed and the trail suddenly turns into 1/4 mi of 6' - 8' high boulders that you have to climb/crawl over/through AND you're only 5' tall. :pointlaug

I've hiked the Billy Goat trail many times, not in heels though lol

Great Falls is so beautiful, especially in the spring when the Bluebells and Spring beauties are blooming

and the boardwalk out to Olmstead Island is so cool

Either of you go to Black pond ? East side of the creek near the river.
Was a rock quarry used in the construction of the tow path.
A young George Washington was involved.
First gold mine in the state is located just East where
Difficult run meets the river.

I haven't heard of it Gry
George was involved in the Potowmack canal, there are old ruins of it on the Virginia side of Great Falls. I do know where the old Gold mine area is, it's just a few steps form the billygoat trail that we were talking about -which is on the Maryland side

was there a Gold mine on the Virginia side too?
