What happened to Sour Diesel?

I see that there is an OG, GG, and Cookies section, but not a Sour Diesel section. From like 2010-2014, I would frequently get it, but I never see it anymore. Luckily I held down 5 seeds and germed one a few months ago and am a few weeks from harvest. I just remember it being a staple strain that was pretty sought after and desired, and now I rarely see anyone have it. Seems like around the time GG and Cookies came on the scene, I started seeing less and less SD.

Anyone still grow SD? Definitely still in my top strains. Really excited to taste that flavor, its been several years. Currently pheno hunting for the right one.

Truth! I grew up smoking sour d and ecsd as different strains. Sours were like candied diesel fumes. Ecsd was more citric sour flavors. The true sours or “diesel reds” bc of their super red hairs, sold for 500-550$ a jar/oz and were barely trimmed and had insane terp/lingering flavor. Currently testing karmas gear and stoked to be holding an sd bx2. Between sour rado and the bx2 im thinking ill at least find something cool, if not a blast from the past!

I've always though Sour D was one of the easiest strains to grow outdoors. At least where I used to live in northern California it was. I saw numerous people grow it and hardly feed it enough or played much attention and still get really good quality.

I would say do the research,Karma is the most transparent breeder on the planet.And he is easily accessible on this site,shoot em a PM.

i'd post the link for ********** that shows its an original diesel and then when you click on that, it says theres no sour diesel.

should sour d say sour d in the lineage or does ********** refer to sour d as Original Diesel?? i can't actually see sour diesel in it.

Hey bro just so ya know,I wasnt being confrontational at all.Karmas a big boy,and is chill.So when I said hit him up with your question it wasnt meant in a condescending fashion.He is knowledgeable in the genetics he works with,much much more than I.
I think he would/should be the one you ask considering it does concern his work,rather than one of us speaking for him.Im sure he could shine some clarity on it.

no everythings cool. i see Karma posting on here somethimes. i figure he probably has messages from all his social media and is busy. i found out through a bunch of memes actually so it looked like something that others might already know about and i wouldn't have to bother him. or maybe he will see this thread and respond?

my friend just mentioned it uses rez seed stock that used a new york sour diesel? i google that and i find Soma info. today the more i search for what he is trying to say, i'm thinking that the question " is there sour d in it" is really more a matter of opinion than anything. so i think my question is moot. haha

DHN has a clone of Sour diesel available, and I was very tempted, at first.... They mention the effects are uplifting and racy. So, with access to a wide range of varieties getting easier and easier every year, are people still into racy effects, or did they just settle in the past because the weed tastes good and gets you ripped, but there's no other alternatives? When I think of racy characteristics, I think of paranoid inducing effects, is that the right interpretation?

Original Diesel/Headband is the best diesel cut imho. Karma is killing the sour seed game though. Headbanger was amazing. I had one big stretcher that went red in the leaves and smelled like ecsd... that citrusy baby wipe teeth numbing sour deeeez.. all the other females were quality too.

I have long since thought to myself that his multi male/ bx 4x was BS. My gut tells me he made the ecsd x nycd cross found a male and just kept hitting the ecsd clone over and over with said male. Then once male was gone had to find a new 1 and 2010 release was the new male. We know how those went. Just MO.

I can agree with the subpar results. It can be really strong if done right, but I have had times where it was too fluffy and airy and didn't have the punch.
