I used to think of it as just his acting style, but I have seen and heard many out of charcter interviews, and that is actually how he speaks

It would have to be Gordon Edgar Downie He was a good dude I smoked with Him on many tours down here in the Southern part of America. I am from Shawnee Oklahoma but got eat the fuck up with The Tragically Hip early on Gordons lyrical prowess was beyond anything I had ever heard I will FOREVER be devoted to the cause. I am an antiques expert Rare expensive glass Promo Rock N Roll on Vinyl, I am also a Horologists and clocks were something He bought from Me while I was out chasing the TTH tour buses via Turbo Volvo station wagons I bought a new one every 3 years JUST to go city to city hitting all the thrift stores getting mostly rare glass sometimes an amp or vinyl whatever the thrift Gods gave me.I sold almost EXCLUSIVELY to My Tragically Hip brothers and sisters NORML members always got really good deals. I miss them all Canada went legal a year to the day Gordon went to sing for Sweet Baby Jesus. He was the nicest Human being that I ever had as a customer He always asked for seeds to play with while home. He wasn't the only one either and I was not the only person doing the Rarities for The Tragically Hip and it's people.Gordon was a Beautiful Pothead Genius. He gave Me the moniker Polo Shirts Willard (bright Polo shirts) because I had always worn bright polo shirts and not a soul has seen You ever wear the same shirt twice dude. I told Him Hey gotta look professional Gordon and I always have a TTH tshirt underneath kinda like the GARMENTs worn by MORMONS it will and shall protect Me and mine from Idiots and Narcotics Agents Hatred too .I will have tacked to My wall some of His want list over hens teeth rarities with what He might think fair prices in multiple conditions. God Bless Him He made many many people better or at least happier maybe wiser.
