Hello All,

Would like to hear some opinions from people who already have families. See my problem is, i really cannot stand kids, i mean i really cannot stand them. Younger they are the worse it is. Around 6 or 7 years old is probably my peak level of hate, but screaming babies as well. Im very unmotivated to ever have a family of my own, but im a bit worried i might be missing out on something. Should i just be a sheep and follow everyone else and breed, or should i just do whatever

Some insights would be cool

Let the flaming commence for hating kids weeeeeeeee!

If you truly hate kids then your answer should be pretty obvious. I used to be the kind of guy that couldn't care less, now I have a child, I'm in love. But I could still not care any less for other kids.

I like kids, I buzz off them, like Dennis Leary said, they're like little drunken midgets. They do and say the funniest things.

Fucking great being able to hand them back to their owners when you get tired of them though.

I think it's looking less likely that I'll have any.
I will forever be that uncle who comes around 30 minutes before bedtime, gives them something sugary, bounces on my knee, chases the round the house, and then when they are finally totally amped up, bouncing off the walls and fully charged, I piss off and leave mum and dad to try and deal with the aftermath.....

measure your decision carefully, I passed on raising a family for raising some hell. I now know that in my declining years I'll not have that particular love and support.

I loved the traditional T-day & XMas holidays, all our family's gathering but those days seem gone forever now, I can relive the memories but never to be part of passing down any traditions or memories for others seems very wasteful to me.

I'd hated kids ever since being forced to babysit my new sister-in-laws twins way back in '79, they loaded their diapers with god only knows what, so wretched was the smell I walked out and had my wife tend to those duties/doodies. I swore off kids then & there.

I have regrets @ 57.......

if you don't feel the deep seated need to start a family, give it a pass.
i have never for a minute wanted to have kids and a family, so i won't.

kudos to everyone who pulls this off without severely screwing up the kids! i realize it is a TON of effort over many years.

Never wanted kids, I'm lucky enough to be with someone who doesn't want them either. I just wish people would stop telling me that I'll some day want kids. "you're just naive, everyone wants kids".. I'm nearing 30, just stop.

I truly dislike "OTHER" people's kids.

The first child I raised is autistic, the second is not. Both a great kids and I'm definitely a better person for having them.

Being a member of a family that's actively honest and working toward positive goals has been "THE" most rewarding aspect of my life so far. After 10 years of working together to move forward in life, my wife and I have a truly wonderful relationship with each other and our kids.

Other peeps aren't interested in honesty, integrity, ethics and all that so much... their attitudes and the attitudes of their children reflect this. We don't like hanging around many people for very long for this very reason, I tend to feel the need to pull my hair out after a while. lol Honest folk we can hang and chat all day, no issues.

What type of person are you, what are your goals, where are you headed? That will tell you a lot about what you might expect in a relationship... the vibrations you put off from your current actions will attract females involved in the same vibrations. Careful. :)

Keep it Clean! :D

Your brain is about to go through a chemical change between now and when you're 35. Your attitude will change. :)

Re the brain about to go through a chemical change between late 20s and 35, well it has, but for me it's gone in the opposite direction. Im very close to 35 now and i wanted kids alot more in my late 20s, wtf?? Particularly the last year ive really gone off the idea of ever having them

And also, i don't hate all kids, infact hate is too stronger a word for most of the little twerps, more just dislike. The reason i feel this way is that whenever im around kids and i quietly observe their behaviors, i see alot of really negative actions & attitudes towards each other. This really grosses me out. Kids can be really really mean and nasty, infact most of them are. Where does this come from? Is it the parents fault, or is it like an inherent trait in young humans to be c**** to each other. Im truly pleased when i meet a kind quiet well mannered child, so rare it is

I used to feel the same about kids. I just had my first on my 40th birthday and am in awe. I just can't put into words the amount of love that is created between child and parent. I almost wish I had done this 10 years ago! Of course I'll be the old dad around all her friends and such. Darth, you have to find the right woman first, it's VERY important!

I'm married and have a child. It's the best thing that ever happened to me. Its made me a less self absorbed person. Yeah, there are many trials and bumps on the road, but it has ALL been more than worth it. It was never my intent to have children when I was younger, just wanted to travel, go out in the evenings, and just fuck around in general. Wife got pregnant and said "no abortion!". Was a stay at home dad for many years, and I wouldn't trade that time for anything. My daughter has taught me more about life, human nature and happiness than any alternative could have. But that portion of my life is coming to an end as she is headed off to college soon and I'm pleased and sad at once. My wife and I have done a pretty good job as our daughter is a very good person, caring, compassionate and interested in the world around her. The whole time my goal was to have a kid who wouldn't wind up on a therapists couch saying how much she hated her parents.

Some kids are great, some kids not so much, see George Carlin for more on that  That largely depends and reflects on the parents I think.

I wanted to have one or two once upon a time but the ex was not fecund. Now I would just like to find a woman to share things with for the remainder of this ride.

If youre not sure if you want them, don't have them.

One thing young children hate is to disappoint their parent(s). An unwanted child will know that theyre the disappointment of your life.

Once you have a kid you cant take it back - unless of course youre a piece of shit.

Ive seen a lot of kids who are nothing more to their parent(s) than a hinderance to the parent(s) (party) way of life. These kids almost always have behavioral issues.

Raising a child can be pure joy, heartache, and many other things - its an adventure like no other.

I always thought I didn't want kids. But 7 months ago I had my first.. I wish I had another. Yeah there are good and bad times, but that's life.. When ya have a kid some things u thought were important wont matter anymore. I would feel as if I'm missing out on the life experience without mine.. She makes me laugh more than I ever did before, like a good sativa.. Kids really aren't that much trouble, and they kinda help ya grow up a bit..
