Smokey,

I have looked at the Floralux before. I really like its tempered glass shield and the option of forced air cooling/venting. As cold as my grow space gets in the winter I may have to pick one up. The price is more than reasonable.

@ Smokey..Where did u get that 150 from??? The price sounds PERFECT! and wouldn't ya know it, the 2 other CFL's I "was" gonna get cost $60, that's not including shipping!! and that's for half the lumens of what a 150 put out....

@Mdanzig..You sir are SO RIGHT!! if you check out my new mini grow you will see I have added four 2' HO T5's in each corner...plants love the blue during flowering...I was also considering, (if no real heat issues) hanging four blue 42w cfl's near canopy level near the main light...

If you're gonna be using one lamp you should really check out CMH bulbs.
The Philips Retro-HPS ColorMaster works on HPS ballasts (actually, ONLY on magnetic hps ballasts). They dish out more red than HPS and more blue than MH, and ultraviolet which stimulates resin production. They also maintain their intensity better than a HPS bulb and run quite cooler, so plants can get closer.
The only disadvantage of CMH is that their max wattage is 400W, but thats no problem for someone growing small.
Cheers

PS: They perform way better than dual-arc lamps and their spectrum range is ideal for growing.
