As long as you keep the bulbs close enough to the plants the cfl's will produce more, and of much better quality. I had a buddy run 3 plants under a little 4 bulb 2ft T5 ( only 96w ) with two 125wcfls hanging between plants and he got almost 2oz's a plant of super crystal goodness. Both the cfl's were "red" 2700k and the little t5's were "blue" 6500k. He won't thread, I already tried it would of been a great micro grow.

HPS, autos dont give you much of a chance to do things such as scrog or heavy training so penetration is import for the lower buds. I love flouros but for denser buds through out the plants In my opinion the 150hps

96+250 watts of CFL is a ton of watts for only 2 ounces yeild...

two ounces is a lowball estimate for a 150wattHPS....even with low yielding OG kush and no training i still got 2.5 oz out of a 150watt closet 2x3 square feet. when i did GDP i hit a QP out of the closet....

go with the 150watt..just get a nice fan to keep that air moving.

I'd only go with CFL thesedays if there was no way to keep cool/vent the HPS properly,

Otherwise for the wattage you get much more bang for your buck with a HPS.

People above have said everything already really though,

cheers

good points, i always add up the cfl floro grows and they are thrilled with .25 grams per watt on average.

where ya get it??? and how many lumens does a 150 produce.....I too am debating revising my mini set-up...instead of purchasing 2 more 85w CFL's (4200 lumens ea) was thinking of throwing a 150 in there...seems more cost effective as it would take me 4 of those bulbs to be as effective as a 150.....? BTW, my space is 4sf or 2' x 2' x 4'

16,000 lumens. 2x2x4 is the exact same size i was using when i had my 150hps. it was a perfect setup. i switched to a 250hps and i haven't seen a difference in yield. the light was 67$ plus shipping.

This is what works for small closet, or micro grows. Use a 150 watt HPS please. Its not even close how much better they are than just CFL's. However, by then adding a couple "blue" CFL's in ther as well, then now your talking. Blue makes a huge difference in adding to the taste, and over healthy growth of a plant.
