I like my steak rare my burger cooked. Half way thru my burger I hear the poor thing mooing. Still Kickin n drippin. Not well done. Not the first time, forth fifth maybe.

if you don't set them straight the 1st time you're doomed, by the 4th/5th burger both the cook & server will assume you really mean medium rare when you say well done.

it's especially true in small joints where the 'know it all' staff streamlines things to make their jobs easier and to train their customers. I hate rare-ish burgers.......

Having worked in kitchens, all I can say is never complain, or if you do, complain to the waiter, don't take any more food, and don't go back. Spit, piss, spunk, I've seen it all go into returning plates. I don't agree with that, but it happens.

I've worked in kitchens and never saw such practices. Customer is king around here, when they complain we try to make them happy any way possible, restaurant owners fear negative criticism like anal prison rape, it's hard enough to run a business without such setbacks. Only time a customer complaint didn't work out so well for the customer was when he ate a rib-eye steak for 90% then complained it wasn't tender and he wants another one... Chef baked him another one but charged them both, guy didn't agree and got kicked out. You don't want such customers anyway. Still no spitting, spunking, whatever...
If he didn't eat it all the way and it was indeed not tender he would have gotten a new one for free. People complain all the times about the way their meat is cooked(most of the time because they don't know what they want or what to ask for if they don't want to see any blood or red), putting a steak back into a pan for a few minutes is no hassle and one of the easiest complaints to fix. If your restaurant doesn't want to do this get the fuck outta there..

Yes it does. I will only ask for a steak to be returned for more cooking if its bleeding red. I like mine Med-Rare so I ask for it to be Medium-Well so I dont ever have to take that risk.
I tell woman I date all the time...shut your bitchy mouth and eat it. Unless you like eating spit and grill slop, enjoy the food right now... as-is. Woman never learn. I would guess that 80% of complaints come from them.
I watched as our cook pulled a dingle-berry out his crack, took the hair off it, and placed it under a burger when I was asst mngr of a Mex -American restaraunt. Bitch was a super bitch and deserved every bit of it when she returned it twice, then asked for it to be remade. Too undercooked! Too overcooked! Make it again new! Bitch had dingle burger for supper!

As far as what I do when enough is enough....I leave and dont pay. I leave the plate of food on the table and jet.

It wasn't something that happened every day, and like I say it was some particularly unpleasant workmates....Just wanted to add that, I don't want to put people in fear getting of the Chef's "special sauce".

You can neg rep all you want. You just can't do it anonymously. Sack up, hit the scales and neg rep all you like.

Neg rep serves no purpose unless the person knows WHY they got neg repped. That shit was abused far too much. If you got a legitimate gripe with someone, you have the right to neg rep them. And they have the right to know why.

If I neg rep anyone, they know it was me, and they know why, because I never hid behind an anonymous button. I hit the scales, and I TOLD them why.

I tried to neg rep you for a double post. But hmm it don't work. just clicking on scales. So now what?

Now it's a privledge. You need more posts to actually neg someone

I used the unhelpful and neg for NOG-of many names. Dude can pass some dangerous advice. Seeing 15 unhelpfuls seemed helpful ;)

I usually walk when its to much to take. If its just my meal, I will sit an let my family eat. An when they notice im not touching my meal I tell them just to send it back an take it off the bill. Now this took along time to get to this point of control.

Lets rewind back to being in Jr. high and seeing my older sister walk a pizza back to the counter (Shakey's) that had some toppings wrong and shove it in their face for making it wrong. She bagan to tell me that if you are paying for someone to make you for that you want, it should be done so (this temper runs in our family----Viking ancestry more than likely is the cause). My first blow up on a chef was a Applebee's where I ordered a swordfish dish........now someone ordering swordfish knows their fish cause the average person is usually weary of the price of the plate an you don't usually find it on the menu of your average eatery. I know how to cook swordfish an know what I should be getting on my plate. Its easy to over cook it an make it a tough mess......this was the case. It was so tough it was hard to cut through. I let the waiter know that its way to overcooked an he went back to the chef an told him an they suggested I eat the Halibut since its a more tender fish (wtf....a fish is as tender as you cook it!). I said sure, all the while thinking why not just cook me a new swordfish steak? They bring back the plate of halibut an I say my thanks.....b4 cutting into the sushi mess that was literally just PAN SEARED! You can see a 2 mm sear area around the halibut. So I now see this as deliberate on the chefs part an I am screaming at the waiter and calling out the chef, yelling at him across Applebee's to come out you lil biche, try to get me sick you fuk. We left......well we had to leave.....well the wifey dragged me outta there just in time. The better half is always saving me from myself lol. I was about to shove that sushi halibut down his throat if she didn't.

I now don't go to a restaurant unless its a special one, thats small, an ran by an artist of the stomach with a passion for food. Otherwise I cook better than most.

Thank the powers that be for my court mandated relaxation therapy. Trivial shit like this is not worth the stress and stress kills. I'm not going to give society the satisfaction of putting me in an early grave. Smoke a bowl and laugh it off.
