What do I need to go to Amsterdam?

I will definatley get a map and a compass. The $1,500 I am saving... its already hard enough I don't think I can do it in time for my graduation (the purpose of this).

A map and compass was great advice guys, so was the money deal. I will definatley talk to my bank to get my options in detail.

About 'security', I know tourists are usually a target but I am a pretty big guy, I keep in shape pretty well, so I am sure I can keep up if any serious trouble breaks loose. I guess I am more aware of it now, which is good because I won't be able to kick a guys ass if the only trace of him is my missing money.

I don't want to pay for entertainment or do crazy shit. I just want to relax, smoke a joint for breakfast, lunch and dinner and walk around the city and meet cool people. Maybe the occassional drinking night & party night, try to get laid by a hot foreign girl.

Also about buying ganja. Is the cities 'growers' pretty relaxed? I know in the US some cities with loose laws you can find a grower quick and in others, because of laws, they keep real real low and hardly ever emerge. I usually can spot them out when they start talking about pot... like things only a grower would comment on.

I can easily get my stuff over the pond, so I think it would be cood if maybe I met poeple and smoked my stuff with them...and theirs with me... they don't go around asking for a recipet of your pot do they?

Anyways, a lot of info guys great stuff... it should really help new poeple wondering the same thing.

Worth the investment.
I've had one for years. Lamination keeps it from tearing, crumpling, etc.

I am planning on going to A-dam for the C-Cup this year and I have been doing alot of research on the best places to stay and finding the cheapest airfares and all. I would suggest staying in a vacation apartment. They are cheaper than hotels and plus you have tons of more room and your on private bathroom and bedroom. For cheap airfares checkout wholesale-fare.com. They are the cheapest I have found for fares to A-dam. To find a vacation apartment check out lovingamsterdam.com, also you might want to google amsterdam vacation aprtments. There are several sites with these listings. We plan on staying for 2 weeks and I have it figured that I can get by on about $2500, that includes airfare and apartment. Good luck!

After you get your quote from that web site on airfare, call the actual airline your going to be flying. Youll be suprised. They are usually cheaper on the flight you want because of fees and such the agency charges. I found out i could have gotten it fifty cheaper if i had direct booked. win some lose some i guess. Next time ill get my quote from the company, then actually call the airline.
