The further you are from the supply train...the more it costs.

Yes thats always true everyone wants to make a buck but mexican comercial weed is cheap near mexico and even cheaper in mexico and always will be. The price wont change much. The days of affordable weed have never ended and never will end. A pound should never cost an arm and a leg but it might if you make a habit of robbing people for pounds lol then it might cost you your head. The Pretty looking fluffy crystal filled domesticaly grown weed sells for such a ridiculous price its crazy how much people pay for a quarter ounce now a days 70 to 140 with 100 being avg. I just want two more states to go medical so a national law can be made and the fbi and federal government finally lose their futile war against our beloved plant. This way more can have access to affordable buds. 50 an ounce for reggie is a ripp off were i live but it sure beats 300 an ounce if yo can find it that is most want to sell eigths for 50 to 70 but fuck all that its either cheap reggie or grow my own for me that "good" stuff is a ripp off. And im sure others feel the opposite way if you live far from mexico.:tiphat:

A lid. omg, but I had to read the replies to this!! I haven't heard "lid" since the early 70's.

Prices in my neck of the woods were simply $20 for a two-finger "ounce" 20 g, +/-). $10 for the dime, $5 for a nickel, and a buck a joint. Some folk would start calling their shyte by colors and adding exotic locales to the name to try & boost price.

I dunno. I was kinda new to the game, and even after I started growing beside my grandaddy's house, I didn't care. Gimme a buzz, and I was happy...

A lid...... omg.......

Late 60's into early 70's $15 for a 4 finger of seeded Mex. Then came the red bud & Jam. they went for $20 to $25 for a 4 finger. By the time I came back from oversea's duty in Oct. of 1980 everything was by weight.

Berkeley in late 60s early 70s. $10-$12 for mexi-brick, $15 for Colombian. Thai was around for $60-$100 but that was too rich for me. One memorable day in 76 a friend said he had something REALLY special from Pakistan for $30. It was full of seeds but, oh MAN, was it special! Hey... SEEDS! The rest is history. I haven't paid for grass since. Bought a lot of seeds though!

Yeah, I remember $10 dollar lids of Mexican schwag and $35 dollar ounces of Columbian. A decent Mexican kilo cost $200. Around 1981 the Feds were spraying fields in Mexico with Paraquat and people didn't want to smoke Mex pot anymore. Enterprising individuals started growing domestically to meet the demand for better healthier smoke. This is when I saw my first green buds of sinsemilla.

Trivia; In the jazz era people carried their reefer in used tobacco cans... "Prince Albert in a can". If you were going to give or sell someone enough to roll a few joints it was common practice to scoop out an amount that would fill the lid of the can. Hence the term "lid". "I need something to smoke. Can you sell me a lid's worth?"
