Canadian Bacon (1995), on Prime. i think this was John Candy’s last movie.
this crib from imdb sums it up pretty well.
“Fundamentally, this is a political satire about a post-Cold War United States desperate for a foreign enemy to a) scapegoat its domestic problems and b) justify maintaining its inflated military budget. But it's also about how quickly people can be convinced of an "enemy" out there by the power of the mass media (essentially, Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky).”
sound familiar?

i like those 80s movies too. Solarbabies was decent. sure i could think of more
Yep! I still need to watch all the different MK Legend movies..
I totally forgot about solar babies! Yeah, Kung Fury was rad, haha. Enough that i'm totally I'm gonna post it here. Still waiting for them to make a second one..

I thought Mandy looked awesome, all aesthetic and everything in the trailer.. but made it 5 minutes in and fell asleep. Still haven't tried to rewatch again it yet.. I been busy watching all the Tremors movies lately, including the TV show that lasted 1 season..
