If the QB's arm is moving forward, it's an incomplete pass. Not a fumble. Say what you will (it was a tuck, not a forward pass), but the rule was written to eliminate AMBIGUITY. Either it is or it isn't, saving the referee the task of trying to determine what the intent of the QB was. The rule was enforced as written, and you can't fault the refs for applying the rule as it was meant to be applied. Did the NFL also magically blow Vinatieri's 46-yard field goal through the uprights? Did they force Kordell Stewart to throw horrible interceptions?
