heya Tarkus - if you're a guitar man I recommend a few of the albums I've been mentioning

esecially - Thomas Mapfumo - Chimurenga Forever
also - anything from Franco & TPOK Jazz

I've also posted a few Miriam Makeba links on icmag - if you follow them, her guitarist during the '60s and '70s was an amazing Brasilian (totally forgotten his name though)

other than Jimi, Patrick Patterson is also one og my favourite guitarists - played for a band called Cymande ... check out "Dove" (much sampled e.g. by the Fugees)

for Cymande the best comp is "The Message" (also the name of their most famous track)

Man he was badass on MTV unplugged, with that kick ass 12 string, doing Rude Mood, Pride and Joy and Testify.

ngakpa, I watched those Miriam Makeba videos and they were pretty damn good. I will have to go back and try to find the guitarist. I will also have to check out those other guys.
