yeh Afrobeat does not get the airtime it deserves

for Fela I recommend the albums Gentleman and Zombie

two compilations with some of the best afrobeat I have listened to recently are Ghana Soundz Vol. 1, and also Afro Baby has some outstanding Lagos afrobeat tracks

Gerard Pino is also worth checking out

West Africa is rich in heavy, funky sounds - I hear there are also great dancefloor beats in Benin

some of those Hip Hop fellas should give sampling the JBs a break and check out tracks like Ageisheka by the Ogyatanaa Show Band ... that tune exists in a funk dimension accessible only via Ghana
