Maybe 20 years back, when walking home at night, there was an old street light which used to go on and off some times. Strange but not bizarre, it used to go off regularly when I walked underneath and turned on again when a was a few meters away again. But that night it got a bit weird when I walked underneath, deep in my thoughts, when it didn't turn on again and then the next street light went off when I stepped underneath and also the one after that.

i've met this story before. while there may be myriad material, mechanistic rationales, and equally as many mysterious rationales, never forget the other possibility that someone is watching you walk down the street and had got the whole lot rigged to fuck with ppls' heads.

i mean, this is such an obvious choice in this culture, is it not?

..there's the amazing talking waterpipe (modulated valve, my favourite) ...or HSS speakers (invisible voices straight to your brain). the incredible sidewalk telepathic murmurer..there are lots of ways to fuck ppls' heads and many of them are purely spirit, others, only unexplained/unknown.

Well, I don't suppose anyone crazy enough to do that in the middle of the night on an empty street in a smaller village (besides, here around people aren't as crazy as they reputedly are on the other side of the ocean)...
But truth be told, as a teen we did such harmless things for fun quite a few times (McDo was our favourite location; lots of people to laugh about and especially to laugh with).
I have for example a magic skill with clay or glass coffee mugs . When filled with good coffee (but not water or tea), a mug in my hands gives ascending sounds when tapping the spoon continuously to its bottom (but only from the inside, not outside); best, when tapping a rhythm like 'tam-tadam-tam---ta---ta'. It starts with a low 'pong' and slowly turns to a high 'ping' within 10 seconds or so. In addition, when I pass the mug to someone else, the magic remains for a few seconds and then vanishes *g*.
Nothing truly magic about it but fun in a restaurant all the same .
