Went fishing....wohoo.

Hello all,

Well, I finally got out to the lake yesterday for some 4-wheel'in (to get to the lake) and a nights worth of whiskerfishing.

Caught about 6 pounds of fish but what is noteworthy is the trophy (Trophy in theses parts is a 14 inch or so) bass I caught on cutbait. I was totally blown away. Further, it did not put up much of a fight to it was almost on shore....very disappointing catch for such a nice looking fish.

I scored 4-12 inch cats and anything small was C&R.

No, I do not have a pic...don't need one.

Anyway, it was a beautiful night, the sky was clear and so many stars....nice.

It was nice to get out too.

Anyway, hope your fathers day was nice to you.

when you say whiskerfishing,are you taliking about cat fish or whiskebisquits.
cause my lady likes to fish too,and is romantic at night out on the lake.

Im glad someones trip went well. I got skunked going for king salmon. Ah well....maybe this weekend.

I know some people that just went deep sea fishing in NC and caught about 500 pounds of fish!!! Deep sea fishing is really fun and offshore salt water fishing.

Fresh water or salt its all good, I’m gearing up for the Tilapia,. Thing about Tilapia, you can’t catch them with bait because their vegetarian so you have use a bow. Bow fishing is fun but you only got 1-3 seconds as the tilapia come up to catch a breath of fresh air or to eat vegetative growth on top of the water, so you got to be fast if they see ya their gone.
They should start spawning here about this time of the year and will be a bit more active. ..they spawn about 3 times a year. Put a joint in the mouth huff and puff and wait...see one come up... release and reel those bad boys in, they get pretty big too. Gotta be fast. Finger those suckers up in your fish & chips meal or use your catfish meal recipe along with some hushpuppies umm some good eatin,good times.

man i went king salmon fishin in alaska right at the beinging of the run so didnt catch anything but a 4 hour baot ride... but i am hopefully gonna hit the alke soo.. my dam dogs ate my fly rod so i need a new one.. i ahve fun fishin. i cast out bait on a bobber and then play with the fly rod for a bit .
