Don't believe Kool Aide is an effective means of eliminating an epidemic.

This has a track record of doing so:
https://www.cdc.gov/publichealth101/public-health.html

As far as I'm concerned, any narrative coming from the CDC or WHO, is controlled by it's major donors. Need I say more.

Some people will never get it. Data shows wearing a mask can decrease transmission 6 fold. It is what it is

Wear your mask, Hammertime. You'll be safe. The only ones who will die will be the ones who say, "FUCK THE MASK";)

exercise & diet will keep a virus from killing us? general population ate healthier/worked harder (MUCH) than we do now during the 1918 flu, how many did it kill worldwide?

its not the same virus!

yes people worked hard and were out doors, but they were malnurished and over worked, ie the had depleted immune systems.

excersise and sunlight doesn't equal exposure to the sun all day and the cold all night, all while no food is to be had and priests are leeching you and shit.

how the fuck would you even compare the situations of now and 100 years ago?

i just hope after a few years you realize that your life doesn't depend on a mask or on the masks worn by others. if you excersize, get sun, eat healthy, you will not die from covid even if you get it. the mask will not save you if you spend months indoors eating crap food and watching screens all day. this virus will get to you, the question is only when and how you will react to it. no one will be spared covid by the time this is no longer an issue.
As much as anyone may wish that to be true, it simply is not.
The correct use of PPE, can make the difference between being exposed and being infected. The balance of your post sounds entirely too sensible.

This is completely false. I have no issues if you choose to get sick that could lead to your death. What I have an issue with is while your walking around asymptomatic your infecting everyone around you possible causing peole to die. Your OK doing that. So ya there's a huge diferance how much concern I have for others.

Pandemic 1918 vs. Pandemic 2020.

wear a mask, do your best with the information you have.

healthy people do better with both the 1918 Flu and Covid19.

Then as now, people have the incentive to wear a mask, to take vitamins religiously, to exercise, to stay healthy, to manage stress, to get a good night's sleep.

which, like you said, is more difficult for poor folks.

seems like there are more similarities - in terms of how the pathogen affects our lives - than differences.

women have shorter skirts now :bigeye:

Let me tell you this.....since day 1.....well day 2, I came to my own conclusion that this was a scamdemic. That was late February. Since that time, I haven't worn a mask, practiced this "social distancing" bullshit, or any of that nonsense. "Herd Immunity", goddamnit! What I will say is I wear a "mask" IF I go into an establishment - only because they require one be worn. I can respect that. I usually send the wifey in(she's drinking the Koolaid). Anyhoo, I don't fear death - least of all some mild virus that comes nowhere close to being as fatal as the flu. That's the least of my worries. I'll die from the fear that MSM is selling before I succumb to this "cold". With over a 99% survival rate, wtf is there to be scared of?? Not a damn thing. Let me make this claim right now........everybody in this thread right now will be alive next year this time. Those who make the transition will not die because of this bullshit virus. You heard it here first.

Which medical school did you attend to inform these strong opinions regarding the disease process of novel coronavirus.

You seem extraordinarily well informed about what you're commenting on, curious how you gained such a stout asymmetry of information about this when most recognized experts in human disease seem far less certain than you.

How nice to have such a clear view of the scene from above the trees such as yourself. If only others could be as confident and well informed as yourself. It really is such a shame that more medical doctors don't have the same volume of information and insights as the members of ICMag...

Hmmm...."most recognized experts". Who's doing the "recognizing" ? THAT is truly a matter of opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. Factor in censorship and you'll discover that there are - from "recognized experts" - schools of thought that debunk the MSM narrative. I'm "informed" enough to know that. Yes, the view from above the trees is clear. I can see the forest. Won't you join me? The only thing you need from this perch is common sense, something sadly only a few possess. Stay low and slow, you'll be safe.:tiphat:

This virus knows no boundaries. Once preying on infirmed elders, the shift is to seemingly healthy from 20-39 (see next post below)...at least in our state.

That's incorrect. We've had a healthy heart doctor on a ventilator, general practitioner and wife contract COVID.

Just because you get sun exposure, eat healthy, exercise...that doesn't prevent you from COVID. Masks worn as they should, hand washing, social distance.

Comfortably numb!
Updated August 27 press conference extending Phase I protocols. Recent graph shows shift of age group.
So, what I take from this is... us old farts although many have predisposed conditions, those who don't, have a certain amount more antibodies because of our upbringing, where we never over sanitized everything or everyone to the Nth degree and acquired a certain amount of immunity, through the ages. e.g we didn't jump on antibiotics every chance we got sick. The younger folks may not have the same antibodies we developed over time, because we had been exposed to them. Back in the day, parents often sent their children purposely to catch chicken pox, the measles etc... "heard immunity" I am immune to measles having gotten the vaccine when I was young and although exposed (3 times) never got them myself. OTOH, I never caught the mumps, and we all know how deadly those fuckers are the older we get.

They also say that those who caught the Hong Kong flue of the '60s, may have a certain amount of immunity from covid. I remember that sucker, had me on my back for a week. That being said, I don't play Russian roulette with my antibodies, as I am a predisposed Sr.

there WAS food, and doctors were not still leeching folks in the 1900s (or rarely) during the flu epidemic. (actually, they still are used in certain instances, removing blood clots etc to prevent scarring etc) i think you have mixed up the Dark Ages in Europe with the US in 1918. then, folks believed doctors and (mostly) took their advice. compare that with today, lol...never said it was the same virus, did i? let's look at that...:bigeye:

are you (and society) willing to pay those most vulnerable to "stay home"? and how many deaths among those out "building their immunity" are you willing to tolerate while learning to live with it?" curious minds etc etc...

better then everyone staying home!

as long as death rates are not greatly exceeding monthly averages i won't panic.

i don't see why you are arguing, not telling you what to do and you shouldn't be telling me what to do.

medicine was different back then and the spanish flue was different then corona. just like the plague was different. each one had its own different mortality rate.

we also seem to have 2 types of corona, the early very harsh version and the one thats around now which isn't killing people at the same rate. yes doctors learned better what to do as well, but the pont is its no longer the life and death threat it was in the first 3 months. the mortality rate alone tells you that.

but not a reading man... fucked up on how the masks work, and fucked up with the medical advice.

worst pandemic since 1919, and you guys eat up the mainstream "nothing to worry about" narrative like it's soup.

what's it called when you've been explained something (how the masks aren't for personal protection) over and over, and you refuse to let the information sink in?

certainly not "free thinker"

... there's skepticism, and then there's blind cynicism and willful ignorance.

Half brain thoughts
