Watering/feeding question...

Hey everyone...

I have 6 Sour Bubble and 4 Raspberry Cream's in plastic cups right now (3-6" tall) ...

The soil mix is Fox Farm Planting Mix, 30% perlite, 3lb's of worm castings per cu/ft of soil

I've fed them twice since I transplanted the rockwool into the soil. First time was Pure Blend Grow @ 1teaspoon per gallon... The next time I watered, I fed it at 1tablespoon per gallon.

I'm wondering.. Do I just continue feeding with the Pure Blend every time I water, or should I alternate?

The plants seem to be doing fine so far, I just want to make sure I get the most outa my plants, ya know? :)

Thanks!

Be careful not to over fert. I have killed and stunted many plants by over feeding. On soil I would recommend using distilled or RO water so you have a good base, then fert from there. Flush every other watering. Just my .10 More experienced growers could probably give you more precise information.

If you already have ferts in the soil, I would hold off on the any more ferts for a while. Every time you water the plants the stuff in the soil is taken up and used a little at a time untill it's finally gone. So you should wait a good 3 weeks before feedin again. then you feed and wait another couple of weeks.
My plants had nutes in the soil and I didn't feed for the first 4 weeks. Then I added ferts on one water day and it's been almost 3 weeks since. I will feed them again at the end of the week. They are doing great with no yellowing at all. Also make sure you let them dry out between watering.
Good luck.

I would definitely wait a couple - 3 weeks. You don't want a buildup to occur in your soil. I use FoxFarm liquids, not soils, but I do believe their solis have nutrients in them. Not sure of the amounts though. Go with some straight water - if you haven't tested your ph it would be a good idea to do so, so you know what you are working with. I like to test both the straight water and also the runoff from the pots (most important). If you dont have RO or distilled water let your tap water sit out for a couple days to evaporate off any chlorine etc.

Get a calendar too and record your watering/feeding schedule and amounts so next time you have a reference. Plus it helps stoners remember what they did last week!

Good Luck - MarkSteeler

Advanced Nutrients Dr. Hornby's Tarantula
Advanced Nutrients Carbo Load

Fred - I was looking into getting the AN Bud Blood and also the Carbo Load for this cycle... There are a couple stores on ebay. Was going to use these to supplement my FF Big Bloom feeding regimen.

Heard only great things about the AN products.

I assume ur using pure blend original grow . 1.0-0.5-1.0
later on u might want to add cal. mag plus . i don't think ur in any danger of fert burn with the original pure blend . it makes some tastey herb too,

slow down , dont go crazy with the watering & food , because your not gaining anything

try to make a steady schedule now . of every 10 days , always watering with plain water between each feeding

and a light flush , about half a lter of water should run out the bottom , after 3 feeding's , this will prevent build up of nutes before going into flower

because Phosphorous which you are probably going to use at flower is very strong & it burns the plant easy

peace

Right on.... Thanks for all the info!

I am currently only using RO water whenever I water/feed them. I'll definately give'm a couple weeks with just water now.

I figured they'd probably be ok in the soil without adding any nutes, but, the Sour Bubble cuttings were already pretty bad looking. The plant I took them from had been in too small of a pot and was kinda root bound.. All the cuttings were pretty yellow when I took them, so I was afraid they mighta needed a little extra nutes to help'm take off.

Seems to have worked fairly well thus far.. Definately going to back off on the nutes though.

Thanks!
