I got the lime today and added it to my soil just waiting for the bat gauno. So I will be using PBP+Liquid Karma. and nothing else.

Right now with the soil the way it is(current grow). I have to use PH down+ionic boost+Sensi Mg/cal bloom at a ph of 6.5. The Sensi cal has all of the nessasery elements in it

Bang they're back to the way they were! lol

I don't mean ta be picky HH but could ya get a shot of the top with the light off, so we can see what stage yer leaves are at? Talking about the right thread made me think. This is the second thread that I've been in that the plants did fine until they flowered them. In the first one, the guy was feedin less than a teaspoon per gal of a weak nute that had more N than P in it, which is the wrong ratio for flowering plants. I'm not sure how, but he had 2 sorta sucessful grows before this too. Now in this thread, HH told me earlier that he's only fed these plants 3 Tbls of Big Bloom per gal and not very often mostly jus PH water..... I think it's obvious that because these guys are new to this, they didn't know what and how much to feed these plants. We all went trough it. I'm sure they didn't realize that when these plants hit that natural stage in flower they would start transpiring heavy and going threw water really fast and that they also go through -nutes- just as fast. And if you don't keep up with it, it will show in the form of a deficiency. This phase usually starts acouple of weeks in flower and ends around week 6-7 in an 8 week strain, yul know because it will stop takin so much water all of a sudden. Stop feeding then, alil sooner when ya get it dialed in and know when that time is. It'll help clear excess nutes out of the plant, lol yep, kinda like a flush.... Anyhoo, it's very simple, no food makes for very unhappy plants. How could the PH lock out the nutes, when there wasn't any nutes to lock out. This is the same with ANY soil that needs ta be fed after they start flowering, it makes no differents if you mix it yerself, or pour right out of a bag. Plants need ta be fed correctly, in any medium or they'll die. When yer car runs outa gas you don't change the tires do ya? lol Later, BC

sure I can do that. This is my second grow the first grow went fine no problems at all. I used totaly differant soil nutrients lighs and genetics. In that grow I had Blueberry and shiva shanti 2 that turned out wouderfull. I used a 1k hps and MH bulbs. I did what toodles does Imixed up my own soil.

here lots of pics. The plant the is heathy is BOG LSD. I have not had any problems with those genetics. I think the Purple Haze is a big time MG hog

I think yer right HH, but I have a feeling this strain jus plain loves to eat alot period. I think the point of the LSD not being affected by deficiencies kinda proves that the soil is fine. This was the purpose of my last post ( it's not the soil ). I hope it didn't offend ya, I ment no disrespect to you or the other guy. We all learn somethin as we go, esp in the first few grows... I get the impression anymore that every time someone has a problem when they happen ta be useing this soil, it gets blamed for the problem. This time the PH and the amount of cal and mag are in question. Well this soil has lots of humates in it in the form of composted frorest humus and worm castings, plus a microherd that makes more as it goes, it also has oyster shells ground up in it. Humates do buffer a soils PH, meaning it allows the plant to feed in a much wider range of PH. It also allows a plant to feed on a wider variety of ions and even compounds of ions that it would have otherwise not have been able ta do. The oyster shell is jus like lime, it will also stablizes the PH and has cal and mag in it. So they've got the bases covered here too. I'm not sayin there could -never- be a bad batch made cuz humans are known to make mistakes once ina while, but they've been consistant with me for nearly 9 years now. Bottom line, it doesn't matter if you do mix yer own soil or use this soil, you must feed according to yer plants needs. Enough about the freakin soil tho..... I'm glad ta see it was jus the hps makin em look as though they had turned all yellow.lol I think the next question is, are they still going through water really fast? or are they startin ta slow down? If they're still going strong I would feed em again, there are plenty of good green leaves left for them to keep bulking up with. It's up to you? Later, BC

yes Im going to keep feeding until there done. I will feed these 3 plants differently then the rest. I have gained enough knowledge now to be able to read my plants unless I run into something out of the ordinary. The BOG just gets FF. I went to this soil because it was a good product and would not need to do anything until flowering. I just did not have the knowledge to tell what different defficiencys look like. I have some church,Arjans haze and feminized white widow getting those ready.
