Water from deshumidifier

I prefer ask before doing, but do you reuse the water from your deshumidifier ? It should be pure water, no pollution ?

normally its not a big or anything to worry about but its not going to be 100% pure any residue or oil etc on your condenser will likely be transferred. use a tds meter to see what yours comes out at it will likely be really low, if not then you know.

also what are you using the water for? as that may sway the answer

It messed my shit up and I wont use it again. Its a great place for algae/bacteria to grow, and is a collector for any spores floating around in the air. Plus u run a slight risk of metal toxicity from the condenser. I wouldn't risk it to save a few gallons of water.

I would agree with this. Just dump it in the toilet.

if you are getting slime and shit in your condensate, check the evaporator coil, and drain pan. its probably fouled to hell and back with nasty algae.

get some good coil cleaner and get to it. all coils hvac or other wise(save for media filtered coils) require this easy periodic maintenance probably every other year.

pour some bleach into your condensate pump to keep the lines cleaned. i like to use sugar cube sized dichlor tabs personally.

when your unit is decently cleaned, you can use that water all day long without issue.

Depends on the style of dehumidifier. I have tried it and I wouldn't recommend it. I don't mind putting it on the garden (the legal garden) but I wouldn't use it again for my weed. I ended up using Aqua Pura brand still mineral water for my plants (I was growing relatively small amounts). It's of the right pH so you don't need to worry about adjusting much and it doesn't carry unhelpful salts if you live in a hard water area. Worked wonders, I have to say and I am slightly annoyed I didn't discover it earlier.
