Water cure test...

I was reading the water curing threads and decided to try it. I had some old stuff in the freezer that I was going to use to make bubble Hash and some new stuff drying I'll use. I'll try the 7 day method and track my ppms out-put water. My water is hard about 390-400ppms.

The Tall Jar: is the old stuff.
1800ppms-out water very dark

The Small Jar: is a resent harvest of good stuff.
1300 ppms-water clear & cloudy

you may want to pick up some r/o water as the more pure the water the more its gunna pull out of the buds.

Smell?

Smell?

OGH...Its funny you mention the smell. I was telling someone today that I only smell it when I bring it up to my nose to smell and it smells like it did when it was dry, but I am doing a small amount, as you can see. Last night, I left the cups of out-put water out over night and I couldn't smell it in the room this morning.

I water cure most all my personal. I have found that my water almost doesn't change color however throughout the cure. I grow in DWC with RO equivalent water (tap water here is <10 ppms) though.

My experience with the smell and flavor is that you have a very pure taste of trichomes, almost like a fine hash. The colors are also made darker imo during water cure. Purple phenos can end up almost black at times.

Impressive pic. I tried to get the water color to show in my pics but, even with photoshopping it never showed as well as yours. That's just SOME of the stuff you're not smoking with a water cure. Nice work.

FreezerBoy Thank you for the comments...On Tuesday, I loaned my camera to a friend who went out of town. Today, I searched my closet and found an old camera its a Sony Cyber-Shot 3.2 the AA batteries were dead. I took the batteries out of my phone and put them into the camera. I only got two shots before it died. I am glad you like them. peace

DAY 5

DAY 5

Tall Jar:
200 ppms-light brown water. 1-2 more days of curing.

Small Jar:
0 ppms-start drying today

Here's what they look like after being in water for 5 days, and before drying.

Here's my drying set up:
Up-side down bubble bags....

Fan

Towel to keep out fan dust!

Dried in 12 hours:
Dried pics

No taste, smooth and stealth. The high is very intense the first 10 minutes then mellows. This is my first time. I think, its pretty cool!

Any reason you chose to blow the fan directly on the buds? I'm curious because it's usually a rule of thumb to NOT let the fan blow directly on the buds.

I understand that this is a water-cure and therefore the same rules don't apply, that's why I'm asking.

MarguiBlack: in normal air curing, your goal is to dry the buds as slowly as possible so you never point a fan right at them. however, when it comes to water curing, your goal is to dry as quickly a possible once out of the water to prevent mold, so direct fan placement is pretty much necessary. hope that answered your question :joint:

DAY 6

DAY 6

Tall Jar:
150 ppms-water yellowish

Small Jar-Has been dried & tested. Currently curing in jar for 2 weeks (air). The amount is too small I dont think, it will last!

NOTES: I DO REGRET NOT GOING THE FULL 7 DAYS WITH THE SMALL JAR. MAYBE I COULD HAVE PULLED OUT MORE... THE HIGH IS VERY INTENSE FOR THE FIRST 10 MIN, THEN MELLOWS (LIKE THE FIRST SMOKE OF THE MORNING KIND OF HIGH). THE TASTE IS? SMOOTH A LITTLE LIKE MENTHOL OR MINTY HARD TO DESCRIBE AND THE ODOR IS STEALTH. GRINDS WELL.

SAME HARVEST WATER CURED & JAR CURED.
