yes... incredible indeed... still enough to make U'r heart skip a beat....
thankfully-one of the dogs was on my lap... closest too the door....
laying on my leg that had the pocket w/ the other half of the bag hanging out in plain site....
hell... if he'd even asked me to step out of the vehicle ... the dam package would have probably fallen out and on to the side of the road as i exited the car.....

truthfully.... the guy was younger and obviously well trained.... he just chose too look the other way.... or @ least that the way it seems to me.... 2 days later as i think back...

still a mind blowing experience.... and thankfully a happy ending...
as i puff a bowl of the AfGooy......

Awesome story Yortbogey. In Cali we have it pretty good but I wouldn't expect to get away with speeding here. I have had a cop smell my weed and he just asked about it. Told him the truth that we had smoked in the truck back at the ski lodge but that we weren't smoking and driving. I do that a lot though. ;)

I had rolled through a stop sign and it was a rural junction with no cars around except him I guess. Had a gooey SB roach in the ashtray. That's what he could smell but he never insisted on looking at it. He believed me and was nice. Let us go with no warnings even.

I do run a radar detector but I normally just drive five over the limit. Bog

That's the way it should be.
In fact, everyone should get a WARNING before getting busted.
I'm talking about plants in/outside the house.

If police find too many plants you should just get a warning first.
Then if you break the law again, you should just be fined.

That's how it is around here if you are a med patient and have too many plants.
The county guys come out for compliance checks and if you're over, you get a chance to comply (unless you're really over like 100s, then they might call the cops and arrest you). If you're a few plants over, you just have to remove those (or they'll remove them).

And of course the county guys only come out if they receive a complaint from a neighbor.

In this way, it's all about complying with the law, an administrative issue, not a criminal one.

Why automatically treat marijuana users as criminals? This is what needs to change! And indeed it is changing in some places! :)

The sooner this movement goes east the better for all of us, and don't let the Mississippi scare you, keep going and liberate all of us. Peace and respect.

Ain't no one gonna liberate us but our own selves. The east coast will never take a page from CA - we're gonna have to fight this tooth and nail.

yes yort, things do change...

Had a similar incident with a pound in the car, last year!!! (except, my ID was at home, rec expired and registration not in car)-just a speeding and no cdl ticket, not off to jail.

Thanks to all the warriors shoulders we are elevated on. jpt

got pulled over by california highway patrol for no reason (profiled for drinking and driving)... went through my cab and trunk before i could even blink

had 1oz, 5 mothers, and 30 completely unrooted cuttings, oh and 1g of wax.... they brought me in for "too many plants" when i technically only had 5 and they surprise me with a FELONY cannabis concentrates charge... thrown out for illegal search but still had to get a bailsman, car out of impound and the best lawyer in town.... lost some good mothers, not to mention, my 9-5 job...

edit: had my actual rec on me and a solid story.... and had not been drinking OR smoking for this reason. on the 405 in LA county

not trying to rain on anyones parade, im happy to hear that the law is being respect in some cases! i just dont want anyone getting the wrong idea and ending up in a tough situation -- sharing is caring

incredible luck that you got such a chilled out le. was the plant in plain sight?

well pretty much... in a box w/ the lid open so they could get sun from the back window.....if anything they had to smellll....

but as WA changes... and embraces recreational pot....
most of the bigger LEO agencies have been giv'en "other" priorities...

there are serious other offenses going on for them to focus on....

growing heroin and opium smuggling problems in a great deal of the WA waterways....and the human trafficking is even worst....

so pot is sliding down the top ten list for LEO ... well @ least in this situation....
