Even Lee said he's sure there's going to be something in 2012... I'm sure that I've seen people stating that would be impossible if 19 fails to pass.

I'm wondering if a new bill is better than fixing this one, if that is actually possible eventually.
I personally would not place any bets for a 2012 prop(or that it would be better). I would place bets on no Cannabis prop in 2012 though.

Want to know something great?? If we pass Prop 19, there is a guarantee of improving it in the future as it will be law.

If we don't pass Prop 19, the future is unknown.

Ooooh, let's wait for 2014-16-18-20. Meanwhile, the whole country is swinging the pendulum toward being more conservative. Get a clue.
My thoughts exactly, 19 fails, and there will be no magic super bill in 2012.

The 2012 people are dreaming.

I do honestly believe that someone could put up millions of dollars and feel that millions and millions of individuals' freedom would be the return.

Sadly I see the greediest winning the bid in my worst speculations, as well as the vein of greed you speak of (on either side of it).

Hahhhahha your fucking crazy if you think that's ever going to happend. Smokers can't even donate $100 toward legalization, yet some big money heart of gold is going to step up and drop millionams out of the goodness of their heart? Do you REALLY believe that? That's like saying strippers would fuck the fat broke guy and the titty bar for free... It just ain't going to happend

as a dutch guy i sincerely hope that prop 19 passes on november 2nd, cause i'd love to go on vacation to sunny california and smoke some of the local product.

california would easily beat amsterdam in cannatourism, its just so much nicer. the weather is great and there is just so much more to do and see than in amsterdam.

So Lee isn't doing this out of the goodness of his big money heart of gold? He's doing this for a return, right? And that is the only way this will ever be done in your opinion, correct?

Aren't truly free people a "return"? The money's already spent BTW.

He's either dumped it down the drain, or he's made an "investment".

As for your last analogy, fat broke guys actually do get laid, just not by souless gold digging hookers. ;)

sure i can, but i don't know anyone there that can hook me up. besides, i don't feel like getting arrested in the us of a.

i don't understand why certain californians are against proposition 19. the bill may not be perfect, but atleast its a step in the right direction. it can always be altered over time.

or

B: they have some monetary gain from keeping the status quo.

Voters now oppose marijuana legalization, latest poll finds
October 20, 2010 | 5:42 pm
California voters now oppose Proposition 19, the measure to legalize marijuana, by 49% to 44%, according to the latest poll from the Public Policy Institute of California.

The poll found a sharp reversal from last month, with support dropping 8 percentage points. The previous poll found that 52% of likely voters favored the measure. That poll, coming after others found that about half the electorate backed legalization, had encouraged supporters and helped bring in high-dollar donations.

The latest poll found a drop in support across all demographic groups, but most steeply among Latino voters. In September, 63% backed it. Now, 51% oppose it.

The latest poll shows that men are evenly split. In September, men favored the measure by 16 points. Women now oppose the initiative 50% to 41%. The earlier poll found them slightly in favor.

Independent voters strongly backed the measure, 65% to 31%, in September, but they now oppose it, 49% to 40%. Democrats support the measure by 56%, down 7 percentage points from last month. Republicans reject it by 66%, an increase of 4 percentage points.

The earlier poll showed overwhelming support among likely voters between ages 18 and 34. Support in that age bracket dropped from 70% to 59% this month. Support also slipped among voters 35 and older.

Much of the change appears to have been driven by evaporating support in Southern California. In September, 56% of likely voters in Los Angeles County and 52% in other Southern California counties supported the measure. This month, those percentages slipped to 41% and 42%.

The Public Policy Institute of California surveyed 1,067 likely voters Oct. 10-17. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Maybe if CA prop 19 had the nice lax hooker laws people would be less uptight about the restrictions on gardens or smoking with minors?
