Reynolds Turkey Bags here. I replace it about once a week. I keep telling myself to get the smaller oven bags, but i never do...

I used to use the old school volcano with turkey bags. Usually on 4.5-5 and I'd only fill one bag. I get really particular about the flavor and didn't like it above that. And the second bag tasted like ass, always.

What are you guys putting into your volcano for a session? I use maybe .3 grams. I'd rather pack 2 .3 bowls and experience a flavorful bag with terpenes in every bag than one .7 gram pack and 3 bags where the last two taste like popcorn.

Opinions?

my first one is starting to get a coat already after two days service

I have dialed back to 5.5 on my classic and can appreciate the finer delivery now
the Ice I grow from Nirvana was 9oz from two plants and is always a fruity taste
the Ak-48 is 10oz from two plants is is a rum/spice taste with a deep cherry after taste

as a new operator I have found much use for the brush especially to keep the upper filter in check

moral has improved somewhat so from beatings to offensive and intolerant

With my "Classic" I use the turkey bags, leave the knob on 6, and pack a fat 1/2 bowl. the first 3 bags are nice but get weaker after that.

I need to do some higher heat tests I see.

I've seen these temperatures only the past 2-3 years as vaporizers have gotten popular and the temperature for thc is way off. I think thats the flash point and not the boiling point which are different things. For years the merck index has listed thc's boiling point at 392f/200C.

I think people are confusing the essential oils(taste, smell) with thc and other cannabinoids because these oils do give light affect but no where as strong as the other oils like thc and when they raise the temperature they get real high and due to most putting more than needed in a bowl not realizing vaping is more powerful than smoking and waste a lot of herb unless they save it for later use but even then the herb is less potent due the thc degrading to cbn from the heat and air oxidizing it.

I think if more people used a small amount oh herb(around .10 gram), grind it real fine almost powdered, start at low temps then slowly raised to at least 410f people will experience how strong vaporizers are but most stop once the herbal taste goes away and deny themselves the powerful high and the saving on herb as well as the medical benefits because a lot of the immune system enhancers are released at higher temperatures than 375f.

back up to a 7 on the classic range and on a fresh bowl while sampling the first extract I see the vapors rise out of the chamber stem at idle,a dime to topper while I inhale

it means I would like to refine this to master efficient and effective too

is still a learning process for me thank you,I'm new

How big do you guys go on the bags? Ive got mine enough for 3 huge hits... about 20". Ive had 6/7 hit bags that were 30" those are fun but i think 3s the sweet spot

i make them as long as the ones that came with the volcano were. they are about 4-5 complete lung-fulls for me.

i change the bag about once per month, maybe even longer. (with daily use)

i use an amount that just barely covers the screen (classic). more is a total waste IMHO.

I've used an SSV for years and just bought a second one.
It is running 24/7 next to the computer, over there, <.

It serves my purpose very well, useing a infrared/lazer termometer to set temps to my likeing.
I'd like to try the volcano, thogh.

But at my age, older than most of you, I vape mostly alone.
The SSV with, its' wand, is perfect for one person and a little awkward for 2 hitters and a PITA for 3 or more.
Playing mucical chairs so one can be 'in front' of it.

SSV is not as much, a 'Party' aperatus.. although it works for parties, the volcano would be the vehicle for passing the bag for multiple users.

My other conclusion is that after vaping for years, I'm not as inclined
to smoke joints and the glass pipe is out of the question, tasteing only ash and butane.. bongs are OK.

I'm on just day 3 of my vap usage background and will already praise this as being far better than combustion
my lungs love me long time all ready

requirements are not discretionary and will be made top priority

I forgot to mention that the reason the lower temperature bags are so full of vapor is because they are a mixture of essential oil and water vapor but after you vape those and go higher the vapor will be thinner but much more potent, this is why you should use smaller bags than the large ones because being that you are using bags you are diluting the vapor enough, if you use larger bags it is really diluted.

So go low to high, grind up herb almost to a powder, use just enough to cover the screen, and use small bags. Make sure you inhale just enough to fill up your lungs half way and the rest would be fresh air pushing it further deep into the lungs for proper absorption. This is the first step to utilizing a vaporizer right and getting really high. The other is diet but we will get into that after you master this. Have fun.

i think your nuts. In the words of Scarface from 'Half Baked', 'just smoke it yo'.

I pack my chamber full (avgs about 1.3g), if the bud is properly dried, water vapor isnt a problem, and i fill my lungs up. I use a grinder, its important that the ganja is basically uniform in shape, but i dont grind it to powder; 'proper absorption' is when it sticks to my lungs, not the oven bag. Use a bag size that that you can empty within 5-10 minutes.

ShroomDR, I'm just giving info that will give a way better extraction than most people will get because they use a vaporizer like they use a regular smoking device.

1-You don't want to pack the chamber because hot air has to go through every part of the herb and if it's packed this isn't going to happen efficiently because the packing will cool off the herb and not give a proper extraction. Plant fibers absorb heat. You do want to pack the chamber uniformly so every part get heated evenly and it creates a small venturi effect which also allows good extraction.

2- Unless your bud is bone dry meaning it turns to powdered just by hand grinding it, it will have some water in it.

3-I stated almost powder but I also forgot to mention that once you vaporized around 385f you should regrind your herb again and then vape because it will release even more vapor then if you just did one grind. It will turn to a powder so make sure you put a rough grind on the screen first, just enough to cover the screen, then put the reground up herb on top of that. This will prevent the screen from clogging with the small powdered herb.

4-If you fill your lungs up with just vapor a lot will go wasted because it is too heavy for fast absorption, a lot it stays in the upperlungs which aren't the best for efficient absorption. You can hold your breath for a while and let it condense onto your lung walls and slowly absorb. Inhaling fresh air after inhaling vapor will push the vapor deep into the lungs where most air/vapor is absorbed as well as dilute the vapor so it will get absorbed faster.

4-Bag size is dependent on how much people are using it as well as how much vapor you want to use right away but like I stated you use too big a bag more air will be in the bag. It may look like a lot of thick vapor but it's just air spreading out the vapor and making it look big. Just like making whip cream. You whip the egg white and sugar to bring air into the mix and it puffs it up to a size way bigger than it already was. The same for using a big bag or a large bong.

Anyway have fun and do it the way you like I'm just trying to show how to get high off of a little and show what a vaporizer is truly able to accomplish because there is a lot of misinformation out there about using one. Such as keeping one temperature instead of adjusting it throughout a session which is what really makes vaporizing better than smoking. NOTHING WASTED FROM BURNING OR EXHALING.

I understood what you said, i just disagree with most of it.

Obviously if you pack it too tight, the hot air cant pass though it, however the finer you grind it (IE powder) the more likely you are to pack it too tight. If you use the grinder that comes with the cano, you should be fine. Its all about getting a uniform grind.

I NEVER re-grind, its not worth it IMHO, there is just not much 'magic' left in the bud. I stir up the chamber before my the last bag, but re-grinding only makes a bigger mess = cleaning the chamber and mouthpiece more often = inhaling little bits of weed.

"upperlungs which aren't the best for efficient absorption." Care to cite a reference?

You have a lot of assertions Truthman, i just happen to disagree with most of them.

T

Truthman

I think we are saying the same things but in different ways.

1-I didn't state packing it too tight is the problem I stated packing too much is the problem and 1.3 grams is too much because like I stated the plant fibers absorb heat which will lower the temperature inside the chamber and lower vapor extraction. You don't have to worry about packing it tight while powdered if you just put the herb inside the chamber, shake it to spread out, and just use something like a butter knife to make sure everything is even. You don't pat it down.

2-The volcano grinder is perfect and it is about a uniform grind BUT if the grind isn't good the extraction will take longer which means poor vapor quantity due to less surface area.

3-If you only vape at temperatures below 385f then yes regrinding is not worth it but if you go higher for more other cannabinoids and way more thc regrinding will get a lot more out of your bud. Also, this is why I stated to use just enough rough ground bud to cover the screen and use the powder like grind on top of that then put the rough ground up herb on top of that . The mess making is another reason why you want to use just enough to cover the screen or just a little more than that.

4-The upper lungs aren't the best for efficient absorption because they can't hold as much as the lower lung which means unless you hold the vapor in for a while most of it will be exhaled before absorption or condensation onto the lung walls. The lower lungs can hold more and allow the vapor to be slowly absorbed by the upper lung because it has more alveoli(the upperlung) but if the vapor is too thick this will take longer than if it were more fine. This is why I stated bring in more fresh air than vapor or at least have equal amounts as far as how full your lungs are. you also want to slowly exhale. you exhale just enough to release some vapor through the nose and continue this slowly in incraments until the lungs are empty.
this allows the upper lungs to absorb a good amount of vapor as the lower lungs.
Hey you can agree or disagree but that's why this is a forum of discussion. We learn from communication. That's how I learned these techniques. Going on OG and fuckcombustion and passing information back & forth I learned what worked best and what was just mediocre.
