I tried and failed with violeta last year, couldn't get the seed to germinate. Could have been me though. Got a 2 inch seedling going strong right now under CFLs. Will up pot and put under T5s in a week or two before finishing under LEDs..

Hey Koondense,

thanks for asking! My violeta is on the brink of death or something similar. As you said i defoliated her and also sprayed her with hydrogen peroxide. Those two things did stop the fungus down a little bit but i guess i was too late.

The buds stopped growing in lenght and only gained some weight and thats it! They're not all that super sticky...i guess i really stunned her during the process. Too bad! Anyways- i'll let her go a couple days more and then thats that! Her hairs are almost all orange despite flowering for only 4 weeks :( she does smell nice tho!

If fungus wouldn't attack her...she'd be a really pretty and nice yielding lady. Maybe next year!

Photo 1 and 2 show the status before and after defoliaton.

Bleiweis I don't think that is a fungus. That is phosphorus lockout due to cold root zone temps. I had that outside one year and couldn't figure it out. I researched and in mynamestich's infirmary thread it shows it. It mentions seedlings but it happened on mature plants too. The next year I used triple phosphate in the spring and it never happened again.

The leaves turn a purple color. They never actually rot away like a fungus would do to them. They just grow slow and buds don't fully form.

New pics from 2 of my 3 Violetas at 7 weeks. From 5 freebies I was lucky enough to get 1 PCK pheno and 2 from the Malawi side. I'll probably let these go another 2-3 weeks. Hope all these, especially the 2 lanky girls will have another spurt of growth and fatten buds before they're done. I think they're gonna be great no matter what. Didn't get a chance to include the 3rd girl, will take pics of all before chop.

This was my first go with this strain and maybe I went a bit heavy with the N. Hoping to see some fading over the next few days.

Thanks guys,

These plants have been a joy to grow so far, my only regret is that I didn't keep and use the male plant I had from the original 5. I battle low humidity this time of year in CO and I'm sure these would have been even better with more moisture. Temps get pretty low at night too, doesn't help matters. If I were growing for anything other than hobby fun, I would invest in better equipment to improve growroom conditions. Maybe some day.

Made a couple of shots this morning of my 3rd girl Violeta #4, flowering under T5s.

I'll sure know to back off on the nitrogen with these next time!

fuckin a! nice work KS! that #2 looks like something else!

Thanks WT,

#2 girl is definitely a different pheno than the other two. More color and a heavier yeild. Something tells me though that I'll like the smoke better from the Malawi leaning girls.

yea... maybe a bit tooo green.... but... OUTSTANDING...

Thanks, yeah I got carried away with the chicken manure and added too much in my mix. Shouldn't have added any, I think now. I've only used molasses for most of the flowering period so I'm hoping to see some fading start before long.

Yes, I got these with my last 2 orders, Panama and Peyote purple. I'm waiting to room to open up before starting my Panama, planning to work with those and peyote purp for probably the rest of the year and nothing else.

Hi tiffa, unfortunately I'm not in England, I'm in Spain, so while I've no problem giving out the cut to anyone who asks, I think due to international borders it'll be easier to do as Lester Beans suggests:

The English Cut is the grower's name.

Get some Violetta seeds from Ace and you too could have the strain!

He's right, because to be perfectly honest I only ever cracked ONE SEED of Violeta (feminised, there were no regulars back then) and got a champ! So I recommend everyone to get a pack from ACE and try the same thing themselves. Some great examples of beautiful plants on here, truly inspirational stuff!

Peace, TEC

A lot of males do that when root bound.

That explains how I once ended up with a damn male fire OG x headband that flowered in only a few weeks under 12/12. Thank you for that little bit of knowledge. I had always wondered how that happened.

I sometimes keep good looking males, usually in tiny containers to keep them small and then I leave them in the flower room to mature and remove them before they get anywhere near close enough to dump pollen and I had one male that was in the back corner of the tent that threw pollen in half the time it should have been possible and it caught me by surprise.

I lucked out because it flowered so prematurely that the females weren't mature enough to go to seed outside of a fast flowering Zak Haze I had, but up until now I had no idea how it happened. My grower buddies didn't even believe me when I told them the thing flowered and dumped pollen in under 3 weeks.

Hello ICMg people :)

I thought I would pop in here and show you my recent Violeta grow. Now these are BX's made by The English Cut, who kindly allowed me to test some of his work indoors.

I popped 5 beans and got 2 females. Both plants were very similar in all ways.

Lovely smell of berries and vinegar with a hint of citrus.

Here are some pics:

I very pleased with the results. I have mothers of both and am running them again now. No idea how to choose between the two ...

Thanks!

My 4 Violetas are currently in veg, indoor, 2 months, 24/0, 2 boys and 2 girls. I'm planning to make f2s. But one boy autoflowered. I don't have experience with autoflowering plants and male plants in general. This boy have a very big balls, not much of them but one or two between nodes, from top to the bottom of the plant. Balls are not in clusters like grapes, just one or two on each node. As plants are under 24/0 I guesses that this means autoflowering. No pistils on this one. This boy have balls for one month now and i'm little bit scared that pollen will get somehow to flowering room (in another room in my apartment) and sex two f2 Panamas in late flowering.

This two boys I'm planning to sex with 2 MalawiXPanama fems too.

Please can you advise me what to do with this male, does autoflowering is happening in PCK or Malawi? Is it useful trait? Does this trait will be passed on f2s on all progeny or just in some ratio?

I never had autoflowering plant, I'm old school grower, Overgrow kid, and just want to make seeds to preserve genetics for future.

Welcome Thorongil,

Sorry for the delay in the reply. Malawi and PCK don't have autoflowering tendencies although usually indica males tend to autoflower if they are rootbound or if the light intensity is weak.

Some of the most beautiful Violeta buds we have seen in this room
How are the aromas of the different females ? Did you find differences or profiles that are more appealing to you ?

Thank you very much for sharing your experience!
Wish you enjoy the harvest! :tiphat:
