^ I got a couple at one outdoor guerilla grow. brutal spring. august heat, august drought middle may-all june. stunted lots of plants. I can't get in and water. these are guerilla grows. ppl would be surprised at the yield of straight from seed grows in properly amended soil in a normal year here ( no tubs make it 'cause of aireal surveillance).

Sounds like your in the same area as me. Very hot this year which would be great if we got some rain as well. I also am not watering. Would like to see a few pics. Feel free to post some on my thread.

8-10 weeks of flowering puts the Violeta around mid to late September, but I wouldn't be surprised if she takes a week or two longer to finish.

good luck with your grow. When do you estimate the Malawi's finish?

Keep on truckin'!

Hi Azure,

Violeta finishes usually late September and Malawi in November (usually early Nov) at 37N latitude, a bit later if your place is a bit up north.

A clone from Violeta

A clone from Violeta

This is a clone from the Violeta. I put the cutting in cup of water, no direct sunlight and a week later it rooted!
I moved the Violeta mom to a guerrilla grow area because she outgrew the vegetation cover! She's 2 meters and the clone is with her!

You cloned that outside in a cup of water? How long since you took the cutting? Looks healthy, good job.
Cheers GG

I took a clipping in mid June then put it in a black plastic bottle and had a 42 watt CFL giving it indirect light. A week later roots were well formed so I transplanted into soil to veg under light.
The clone was put outside July 22. It really likes the sunlight and has been grown much faster outdoors.

These are the links where I found out about water cloning:

azure what was the light cycle you used when you rooted the clone. i thought about doing the same thing but i didn't want to deal with them needing to re-veg when putting them back out side. i was thinking less seed to burn to get the right amount of females. your's don't look to be going straight into bloom

I had 18 hours of indirect CFL light on the new cutting while it was in water.
Then when I transplanted it to a cup with soil, I left it under the same light but now in a humidity dome for a week.
Took it out of cup transplanted into half gallon pot then to outside after a few weeks.

I've found most strains will root in just a glass of water. Make sure to use fresh water everyday and keep a few nodes underwater and you'll usually see roots coming in at the 10-12 day mark. There's always a few who don't want to root so throw a few more extra cuttings in the cup than you'll need. Lower ppm water seems to work best.

Peace,
KF

Transplant success

Transplant success

I had had to move her to another location and she has settled in!
Her clone seems to be well too. A little bug bites on the clone, but she's fine.
