Framed archival print of a vintage pressed botanical / herbarium specimen (dried 'cannabis sativa' plants) collected in Sweden in 1956.

The specimens were mounted in the traditional manner using paper strips. A hand written card with the plant description, where it was collected along with the collector's name and the date of collection.

I don't want to hijack the thread with what Billy has done, but these are some useful slides I have done up from papers or other places with tidbits of useful information on cannabis antiquity..

Maps..

This map is particularly interesting... The color bands indicate relative amounts of ultraviolet radiation that area receives.

This is a nice figure of cannabis in ancient languages..

Billy, we miss you here mang !!!

Thank you guys, the sentiment is appreciated:thank you:

In this time of change we live in, words like 'Medical', 'Patient', 'Legal', ect all bring a certain sense of safety. Some even separating those who are and those who are not...

While the safety of a blanket can be a comforting lifesaver on a cold winters night, you take that same blanket of warmth and stretch it over the mouth of a shackled man pouring water slowly restricting the last remains of freedom and that object of safety now takes the same away.

Recently reminded by some Dicks, in this new world filled with safety words, I am still a fucking criminal growing my own med's...

Winning this round, greener pastures await.

I have hundreds of pages left to write! Our story of Humanity with Hemp will resume shortly.

We will call this the first intermission...

Best vibes your way Billy, you are correct, we will win.

You are a blessing here for many, those blessings will find their way back to you with Godspeed.

Heaven and Earth are witness to those that are a benefit to life, and those that are not.

Keep the faith, no matter what. You will prevail.

In my book, teaching a dog to sniff out drugs in order to bust someone is animal abuse. I'm sure if the dogs knew the ramifications of what they were doing, they would never want to bring harm to their human friends!

“All the world's a stage.”

― William Shakespeare

The Show Must Go On

If you have high dreams on the stage, the only way to get you there is of course, Hemp...

To make dreams into reality on stage a complex system of Hemp rope rigged through pulleys, blocks and tie downs some counter weighted with sand bags awaited backstage. Sometimes hundreds of ropes were used to complete the illusion for the audience onstage.

These theaters employing hemp rope systems are known as a 'Hemp House'...

Hemp rigging hidden backstage would be the thread holding everything together. The background sets, lights, props, the occasional flying being and even the curtains can thank hemp for setting the stage.

To make it possible to sail through wobbling waves, hemp made it happen. For the clouds to float above, hemp made it happen. The one common thread holding the whole production together every night, was indeed hemp.

Manning the massive network of ropes at correct timing would take a dedicated team of stagehands in a choreographed routine never seen by the audience.

This man moved set would make way to pulleys and wooden crank machinery but the hemp ropes would stay to this day. Many Theaters around the world still identify as Hemp Houses.

Next time your looking for a night out with the wife, gain some points and suggest the Ol' Hemp House...

I worked in a Hemp House Theatre about 30 years .
Hemp ropes are still used , though its a counter weighted pully system these days .

The Hemp House certainly improved my knot tying skills . Though hemp splinters in the fingers are not much fun .

Thanks for sharin
