Viniger pH adjustment?

Ahh.... excellent....

You may know me as the double OO

Other types of lime can in fact raise the ph above 7.0

Dolomitic will only react to bring the soil towards neutral....

any excess will only sit in the soil waiting to neutralize future acidity....

Wonder how many folks know ph levels are logirithmic,a 6 ph is 10 times more acidic than a 7 ph,a 5 ph is 100 times more acidic than a 7 ph.Accuracy is pretty important

am i over simplifying this? I have used a few teas the last few weeks, never check the PH (never thought to) never checked the PH of my soil (supposedly on the bag was 6.5) never checked the PH of my water (filtered tap left to sit for a day and bubbled) and my plants are fine? They respond quickly to every watering or feeding...

Did you use dolomite? Its normally not until mid flower or so that the defeciencies really start showing themselves, hopefully the ph of your water and teas is between 6 and 7 if you didnt lime your soil.

well, my soil bag says it has dolomite lime in it. I have no idea what the mix is. Actually my PH testing or non testing is inadvertant. I bought a crappy PH meter and when it didnt work.. just forgot all about it. But if the PH was incorrect in my water and teas, wouldnt i know every feeding by the way the plants react?

Not if the soil ph is still between 6 and 7,thats why you normally dont have problems until later in flower. The soil becomes more acidic from the nutes and such.I have a question that begs to be answered.I agree dolomite lime is not used to lower soil ph,but it does seem to buffer high ph nutes or water to neutral. The reason I say this is because whether I pour through a 5 ph concoction of tiger bloom or an 8 ph water out of the tap,the runoff from the pot remains near neutral.I've tried this more than once to be sure,it does seem to neutralize a high nutrient PH.

Dol lime RAISES a lower ph - not lowers a high ph - so it nutralizes acidic bases.

My spring began with record warm temps - then I had a Spidermite infection - and by the time I got that controled - almost everything was stressed into flowering - where the leaves go all the way down to single fingers - - and I've been working about 2 months to get back to something resembling a garden.

The major adds have been mycorziadial (sp?) additives, molassass and dolomite lime.

My clones are taking forever - if rooting at all - - it's not pretty still,

Everything is gennerally the same - same strains, same foxfarms products - - it's been kickin my ass I harvested a plant a week ago - so I've finaly got a little stash it will be a few months to get back running right.

That's kinda like having the kids test your food to see if it's good or not,,,

I bought a decent PH tester,,, After I fried the garden the first time.

PH can be your friend.

AND VINEGAR IS NOT A GOOD PH ADJUSTMENT.
It flucuates WILDLY in a short period of time - just use aquarium down PH - it stays constant - unless there is something else chemical or biological that alters the ballance.

PH and Vinegar...

PH and Vinegar...

Hi All !!
Unicorn posted a web site about Earth Juice PH ajustment ...it's basically
citric acid lemon juice........plants like vitamin c, people like it too, but I
do not think vinegar is liked by plants or people much...and I did an experiment with both this week....the winner is LEMON DROPS.......

all vinegar did was flucuate all over the PH scale, I basically got tied of testing with vinegar....IT SUXS........LOL....

Used lemon and all went smooth and ph steady......and the babies LUV IT !!

Grapefruit x Haze 1 month flowering

Original OG Kush cuttings 1-2 wks
Peace!!
