Viniger pH adjustment?

I am growing organicly with no liquid ferts and my plants have a pH 7.1 does anybody know the correct amount of viniger dilution and at what strength i need to add?

would i be best off simply making my dilution to a ph of 6.0 and then water as normal? make a strong solution with a single pour and becareful how much i add, testing the runoff? add viniger strait to new soil, test the soil, repot?

i am using a modified moonshine mix (ocean forrest, light warrior, 2xblack gold, 60% coco coir brick, half bag of perlite) I had been watering with tap water, which has a ph of 7.0.

he is absolutely rite vinegar is not a good ph down...it doesnt hold...you will be adjusting every day

Just use PH down for aquariums -

I would just mix a couple tablespoons dolomite lime per gallon soil mix and water with the 7.1,the dolomite will neutralize it.If I pour a 5.5 solution through my dolomitic soil the runoff will read close to 7,same with a ph8 solution, the runoff will be identical. This is what I notice and am doing this entire grow without ph upping my feedwater or ph downing my straight watyer.Everything is perfect so far and I'm 30 days into flower with some seedplants.I'm using 2 teaspoons tiger bloom with out ph up with a 7.2 starting ph,you know thats shits low.I'm also using 5-1-1 fish emulsion without ph up for vegging plants, thats even lower than tiger bloom lol!I'm getting away from ph up and down and just counting on my dolomite to carry the day.So far it is.

Due to SKELETOR's persistant and dedicated support of Dolomite lime, I had to go shopping recently.

(Anybody else notice - the more one reads here,, the more one tends to spend on the garden?)

I added about a heaping Tablespoon per aproximate gallon of soil - 50-50 Foxfarms OF and pearlite just as insurance - it's been a month or so - no startling change, but it's early in a recovery phase

You need accurate PH information to advance in ability - especially if your water isn't perfect out if the tap.

If you mix YOUR soil mix w/ 2tbls per gal pulverized dolomite lime + wet mix(water) cover and let sweat in your grow room for 30days =
No problems w/ PH. If you have a problem now with soil, spead some lime around
the top of your plant and water! But get that mix going... and transplant! There are many good soil mixes around! Trouble FREE!

peace, Willie! :sasmokin:

Sorry capt. I can beat a dead horse cant I?I just believe except in really extreme cases dolomite is all thats needed to keep your ph stable despite nutrient PH.

I'm watering right now with 2 tsp tiger bloom for flowering plants and 1 tbls 5-1-1 fish emulsion for vegging plants and when I checked runoff's all was around neutral or slightly lower

Hello all,

Captain, 1 tbsn of Alaska fish put into a gallon of 7.0 water will drop below 5.

My soil has 1 tbsn / gallon soil- no issues with pH.

I use teas and drop the pH with vinegar to low 6's as my teas are above 8 after two days of bubbling. My plants love it.

Just my experiences.

Capt kirk 2 tsp of tiger bloom brings my ph down to close to 5,but it all depends on the PPM of your water as to how much ferts and ph up/down will affect it.If your water is really clean with low PPMs,a tiny bit of up/down or ferts may cause a drastic swing wheras if your water is basically dirty like mine a few hundred PPms it'll take more ferts or up/down to cause the same PH swing. The cleaner the water, the more "sensitive" it is to ph changes

Hiya Skel,, I don't know the PPM's - I can ask next time I'm at the local hydro shop. -- let me go check the published water reports -- brb.

TDS total disolved solids is 55-80 ppm's
or
86-189
or 77-180, depending on which supply hmmmmmm

I'm mountain spring type water - everybody says it's pretty hard, but better than downstream water

Last time I checked, 2tbs will drop to the 5.0 range and that was fatal to 1/2 the grow - -I've been using 1tbs with a 6.0 ph just going twice as often

Had a terrible summer - about killed the grow - been in recovery. (the grow that is,) it's getting better.

Capt Kirk when you say you killed the grow were you using dolomite lime when you were using the 5 ph tiger bloom?I'll tell you one thing,I'd take any one of those three my ppm is a lot higher than that, but some of the stuff can be beneficial

I may agree that dolomitic lime is like magic....

But I dont think it works like my old friend skeletor says....

From what I have read dolomitic lime can only increase ph...

It has no ability to reduce ph....

It is a buffer... and as it approaches 7.0 it begins react less to the soil...

In low ph soils it will raise the ph towards 7.0 neutral but over 7.0 it cannot reduce the ph...

If someone has a link that shows dolomitic limes ability to lower ph that would be proof....

but until then....

If I previously said to use dol.omite to lower soil ph,I apoligize thats not true at all.To lower soil ph agricultural sulfur or elemental sulfur is the thing to use.The reason I'm so hyped on dolomite is its an acidic problem we all encounter,I wouldnt say nobdy suffers from a high soil ph but its few and far between from what I've seen.Thats why I've probably given the impression that dolomite is a cure all for all ph problems,I didnt mean to use it for a high soil ph.I've never had a high soil ph so I cant speak with experience at all on that.
