Vietnamese Cannabis Seeds

I was expecting a nice sativa high anyway and decent potency but the strain smoked just like any other decent SE Asian imported bagseed. In fact they resembled a bit to the Philippines Sagada landrace I grew some years ago and she had a strong character too.

Too bad the Viet black didn't live up to your expectations, I was hoping you'd find something epic after the disappointment with the Sagadas. Did they still finish a lot faster? For me it was the lambsbread that never quite did it for me, but I only flowered a couple.

Hi Thule,

From my experience with tropical strains, I find that you usually need to grow out 20 ~ 40 females from a landrace strain to full maturity to find that extra special, strong, hard hitting, invigorating, long lasting and totally enjoyable and memorable sativa head fuck...and it's usually there..or among the next 40 femmes, lol

and ideally, when collecting landrace (bag) seed, try to take home seeds from various, not just one source of good ganja.

I know and I've tried, got caught both times. Must be Murphy's law or something and I'm never doing that again while it's illegal. In here they prosecute you by the number of plants, not the size. Even the sex is irrelevant. Now I'm like societys enemy number 1. just for growing a few landraces that wouldn't have yielded shit, all for genetic diversity. In their book 40 plants equals 1000kg of marijuana and WILL get you jailtime or at least probation. No matter if they're tropical sativas, no matter if it's a mini grow, no matter if you're using fluoros.

i spent time in northern vietnam many years ago and smoked a lot of pot during that time and while what i got was ok it was all seedy as shit ...i hunted far and wide , Hanoi , and was all i could get ...opiumated weed was plentiful but not what i really wanted ..not saying it wasn't around and the atmosphere at the time was very fearful i guess ..all of the weed i saw was very stringy sativa looking and smelt like nothing .......still had a fecking great time ...

In this 1970's Vietnam War video at , you'll see soldiers walking through fields with wide leaf plants, no narrow leaves in this particular patch. Looks very similar to your pic. Fast forward to 59:00 to see the broad leaves.

Very nice plants compa, thanks for your feedback and pictures... I really dig the Nam Black X Jamaican, looks like a very fine sativa with delicate leaves and flowers.

Can you feel any interesting vietnamese influence on her aromas or behavior as opposed to your experience with the pure Jamaican? They look like they still have a long way to go, but worth it for sure.

Looking forward to hear from you wey and see how the plants finish! Hope everything is fine there. :)

Peace.

BTW, if your sagada came from vibes collective then it came from me. I donated the seeds to the collective along with many other sativas like Sri Lanka.

I call that fucking BULLSHIT, Huangdi received the line directly from the Phillippines and shared them with Rahan and others:

Huangdi said:
This strain of Phillipines comes from a former member of Overgrow, named Chongkee, a phillipin. We both received seeds from the Kalinga and the Sagada. Dubi did the Kalinga and I made the Sagada. Unfortunately, the Sagada did not give pure males and therefore the seeds obtained are very strongly harrisas. I think we will drop the strain, especially since it had no great interest compared to a strain of South Asia is traditional, despite the fact that it was reputed to be the most traditional of the country.

You remember Huangdi and Peter from Vibes Co, no? You are lier. And the Sri Lanka was received by Ras Pablo, not you... and other people already received those seeds from Green Hornet's breeder too, you think you are the center of the universe but you are not. ;)

Are there any pure Vietnamese cannabis seeds available? Without sounding flippant or disrespectful, I'm looking for the kind GI's would have smoked in the '60s.

Vietnam Black is not available from ACE Seeds, only Vietnam Black x Thai, and Orient Express (Vietnam Black x China Yunnan).

The Spice Brothers seem to be very hard to find a reputable seed seller for. They used to have Viet Combo Vietnamese x Vietnamese Black.

So my in my quest for the greatest landrace seeds of old, I would love to get a legit source for old time landrace Vietnamese cannabis seeds. Let alone ones with good growth characteristics.

Also, I imagine there is a difference between the Mekong Delta/Saigon area strains, and that the Highland seeds are going to be more like the Cambodian and Thai areas they border? Those seem to be plentiful (although not any specifically Vietnamese ones).

So I guess my questions would be:

1) Are there still good outlets for the Spice Brothers seeds?
2) Is Reeferman's Hoa Bac (Silver Leaf) - Vietnamese Mindfuck still available somewhere?
3) Is there anyone else who has landrace Vietnamese seeds?

Hoa bac is available, I grow it now. Reef is just really doing his site now but will be back up soon. He also has willie and is going to release a auto willie.

Look around there are Vietnamese crosses and stuff. There's some pure out there too. Ace won't sell their pure they said it's a herm machine (well herm prone but I usually take that as its a serious herm monster. Hermaphrodite central no thanks. I'm guessing there's also the reason they use it as a breeder.

I plan to try oriental express if I can find a reasonable yielder I'd grow it to sell

The more of this strains I grow and test, the more clear I have that they are just strains like any other and many times, the hype and the legend behind them is much bigger than the strains themselves. Or maybe it's that I'm getting to picky with sativas! lol. But I don't really have the time or space to spend years working or improving a strain if the first time that I grow or smoke them, they don't really ring a bell or click something on me. It needs to be love at the first sight, you know?

Vibes.:tiphat:

THIS!

Couldn't of said it better! If I am taking the time to grow a picky, low yielding plant that takes six months to harvest I want it to be the best herb on the planet! Some are worth it and some are a giant disappointment. But with sativas it is magnified due to the work involved.

ty, lieu hanh 99 was one of the first strains i grew, i didn't know what to think about it and was interested for the viet line. i only remember the weed as pretty potent (grew with two strong sativas) and the veg odor was of delicious savoury food, like diving into the plant chomping. they're the fat ones in my "old" photo album.

i remember the double serrations, especially on the darker leaved (black!) red hair pheno, which was especially gluey, real bag appeal bud. (seemed like something in that pheno gave me a slight headache).
