Very Berry Surprise Growers!

Hey all,

I'm getting ready to set 5 Very Berry Surprise to germ, and thought I'd put up a thread to track the grow.

How many of y'all have grown VBS so far? Any recommendations? I'll be growing in a soilless medium under a 400W MH/HPS

It might be interesting to get a thread together where the fortunate recipients of VBS can share experiences of their grows...As there's been much ado about the strain (I'm sure you all know the story), it'll be interesting to see how everybody's beans turn out.

hey there.....welcome to the site.....there are a few threads on the VBS....this is one of the if not the most recent..........

3LD did an outstanding job with them
Not sure how much you know about them, but VBS is a BlackberryS1.....all females.....look for a thread by TexasKid on them...he said the best pheno was a pale green one that resembled the aloha widow 98.....DrawoH grew some out, as did Sleepy if you want to do a search....I have 3 of them just germed and going 12/12 seed to finish 1 green stem pheno, 1 pinkish stem pheno, and 1 purple stem pheno, so I'm psyched.........lot's of folks got them, they were a freebie for quite awhile. Should be a lot of threads on them, but folks are always growing something else it seems.

I didn't realize they were feminized! That rocks. Thanks for the link, that'll be a great help. I've searched OG for similar threads but haven't come up with anything.

I've plunked the beans in the water...now for the wait...AGONY!

Any background info to your grow, e.g. hydro vs. soil, lights etc...?

From all the pics I've seen VBS seems sativa dominant. What do you thing your finishing time in 12/12 will be?

Heres one of the two plants i grew out, this is the better due to the other being leafy and a tad airy buds............this pheno is nice and tight.

Yes im also a VBS grower atm & have several phenos flowering now in a pro-mix based medium. They seem to like to pale to a degree but doesn't affect the bud maturation as far as i can tell...genetic mabey . Anyway i have that same pheno mi thinks as tc posted above. A member(1977) that's friends w/OGkid said thats the blackberry x bubba k. pheno & is a good 1.

I've also grown out the vbs. I got 1 thats a keeper, It's real skunky/piney/fruity smellin', Mine has red and purple in the buds, but the tircomes on this one are purple/pink in color. you can really tell when you look at a leaf green with this purple coating..as soon as i get a digicam (xmas time) i'll be postin pics...good luck, all in my gro-op love this strain....scrappy

Right on scrappy i haven't decided yet which 1 to keep. Heres my 3 phenos dry & cured a few weeks in the jars. I'll do a smoke report after i them a little more & have a better idea. They all smell berrish...1 very much like black liquorish with a skunky bite .

Yummm....just planted 5 o' my beans. Three have cracked and two probably will in the soil, we'll see. I am suspect that one of my Sadhu plants is a male , though I would still like to cross some of that pollen with the VBS just for fun.

They're here (at least 3 are). Came home to a nice surprise today...a very berry surprise ...3 have popped out




3leg...I forgot to ask, how does the VBS smoke? How's the high?

these grew just fine...mine were rushed, and battled mites...

i am going to start smoking it tonight, and i'll post a report...

its a nice purply-orange and smells great! citrusy/sweet...yum.

Update...
I finished mine and am very disapointed....
Very pretty, no medicinal value.................

Don't just spend your time with this strain.
They might be pretty but you may end up pissed, feeling like just lost 3 months....

You didn't like any of yer 3 phenos Ligit ? Im' with ya on the potency being low, but 1or2 of mine smoke decent.

I won't be keeping them around though after this clone run is finished. Too many others to grow.

hello there
ahhh man i really hate hearing this my friend's ...i was aware that they were not all that potent but i had hopes that you could atleast get a decent stone from them......i have 4 up and growing right now and there looking Quite good at the moment......i'm very glad that atleast i have some pretty good purple pollen to breed with one of my V-B-S and hopefuly it will add some potentce to these cross.......
