Hi first time signed up here today. I am starting my first real grow indoor. I have 2-1000w bulbs and a 6x9x 8ft high space. I had thought i could use vertical bare bulbs, with the plants 2 deep with farther plants 1.5 ft raised with buckets and boards. Would I want to use a parabolic reflector on the lights to keep any of the light from escaping upwards? Also is this the best setup to choos for 6ftx9ft x 8 ft high, or should I run horizontals? Total floorspace is 45sqft and I wasn't going to have a plant directly under the vert bulbs, just the leaves from other close plants might e under. I am basically wanting to cram alot of plants and stadium setup as I don't have enough cash for the 2 - 8" aircooled horizontal reflectors ( eventually being 4 - 600w in aircooled 8"), when i have the cash. Any good input is helpful, I am getting 40 clones next day or too aswell

The parabolic reflector is a good idea, just remember it's going to hold heat.
I put a 'lid' on my vertical system that's similar to a 5.5x5.5 parabolic reflector. I have a vent in the lid that runs to my A/C. There's a link in my sig if that isn't clear enough.

You just want to make sure that if you're not using cooltubes and you are using a parabolic reflector, you at least vent from the top to minimize heat build-up.

If heat isn't an issue, you sound like you're right on track.

bringing this one back from the dead. Who has new info to share?

No info but I do like growing vertically ;) 12 plants in a curve, the reflector hangs at 45° angle they're in compost fed biobizz, 14 days into flower. It's not a donut tent size is 1.2m, single 400w hps.
