Thanks Whodare, been lurking your current grow, lookin good...

StealthDragon LMAO @ giant ladybug hahah that painted a funny picture, maybe a good costume next halloween?

As far as the fittings go, I see no reason not to trust the barbed style fittings, especially if you zip tie around the hose too. I recently changed my lines to spread out the buckets and they had to be cut off they were hangin on so tight. They don't leak at all...

Hi High74, Nice avatar, is that your work??

I agree with your take on DWC did you mean to say 2 X 80w air pumps or 280w of air?
I like the idea to put spacers under the buckets for ease of draining. I have noticed another advantage of vert growing is that the lights don't seem to heat up the buckets as much as overhead lighting does. Changing out my 5gal control bucket for a 20gal tub was a great move, takes alot more to heat up that water and it's far from the bulb.

Dude how do you get that damn Home Depot timer to work? I have one that I can't get to be on when its in AUTO...WTF?

:fsu:

Update: The bushes are starting to scare me....LOL

I am beginning to think about the flip, I understand it's strain dependant, but I'm not sure about the vertical influence. My target is about 5 feet tall since I have stacked bulbs. Lots of the branches that seem to be in the dark in the pics can be tied into the light and will happen very soon. I am seeking advice from exp vertical growers here, Indica dom strains..

Here are some pics of where they are today, growing rapidly at the moment..

*waiting the flip anxiously*

You are not alone brother, I really want to flip but don't want to pull the trigger too soon...

These bitches are eating, pulled my EC from .9 to .64 in 24 hours.... I bumped it back to 1.0

i would pinch those massive fan leafs on the front side off. only the ones that shade out nodes below.

i've been doing it and the nodes that were shaded shoot for the 'stars' so to speak. its pretty crazy

Here is some root porn, You can see the CMH lighting the back side of the roots and the reflected HPS lighting the front side. I will try to get another pic with the HPS turned off.

You can clearly see my water level in the buckets by the roots, I may raise it a little and see what happens..

hahah i told you aero,,,,

dont ever underestimate the power of vertical

once you flip the switch, the stretch is even more crazy then flat garden

so i say you trim the back branches ,,, those are going to sucks most of the juice out of the one in the front, you dont need them back branches, cut em for clones or something

put some kind of chicken wire around that bulbs if you dont want you ladies commit suiacide lol

also clear up some leaves to keep the rh down and better light pepetration ;)

:D

I strongly second Reds advice. I've tried to train back branches to come forward, but find it easier with my setup to remove them, and let the front side fill in. Less work, better airflow, and a good yield with minimum larf.

Thanks for the input Red and Iceryder, It's really hard but I will cut some more branches off from the back. I did already trim the large fan leaves that were blocking bud sites..

I also installed some chicken wire but not around the bulb, I put it on the ceiling instead, I don't mind running a string to control each bud and move it where I want it..

Thanks again for the advise.... Any thoughts on when i should flip, I am guessing a week or so?

Hi Aero, man I have to say, your grows are impressive. The PC aeroponics, awesome stuff! Anyway, I hope you have a couple minutes to help answesome some questions I have about your DWC setup. It appears you are running the following equipment (I hope I didn't overlook some post..):
* (6) 5 gallon buckets, with 10" Net pots
* (1) 20 gallon control reservoir
* 1/2" tube connecting all buckets (2 connections per bucket/control reservoir)
* 4 watt fountain pump w/ 1/4" line from control reservoir to #4 bucket

* (3) GH Blue Stone Pumps -> 2 lines per bucket (I may have misread that one, post #66??)
* (6) 48" flexible wands, 1 per bucket
* (1) 12w cheapo air pump for control reservoir -> 4 lines to control res
* (4) 24" flexible wands for the control reservoir

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Your setup is very similar to what I want to do, minus the vertical part - I don't have the room.

I look forward to seeing this in a couple weeks!!

i say you trim, pinch, clean up, give em a few day to recover from that a flip it .

remember once you flip the switch, there will be a lot more work than when you're just veggin em

you'll start seeing a bunch of small larf nug from the back, please remove those because they dont nothing but sucking all the juices out of the big colas infront

other than have,,, have tons of fun bro i know you willl haha

cheers,

RomulusUSA, wow, nice work keeping up with all my changes, the only thing you missed was that I changed out the 48" wands for 2 ceramic micro diffusers in each bucket. I may not have mentioned this but I thought I did somewhere. The wands have worked well for me in the past but this time, they weren't flowing enough bubbles with the original piston pump.

It took me a while to get this system dialed in but it is now performing better than expected. Time will tell, but so far the current growth reminds me of low pressure aero, rdwc, and uc. I am not claiming this system performs "as" well as those systems, but it's close likely due to the cool res temps without a chiller and high air flow through the water.

If you have any questions building one of these setups, I would be happy to help.

Thanks Mrktwiz!!

Red, thanks for the suggestion regarding flip, I think you are right and I am going to give your suggestion a try, I'll post a pic after the trim and I flip them in 3-4 days, I have chicken wire on the ceiling, and a hand full of string!!!
