vermiculite?

I have some Ak-48's in some 1gallon pots. The soil is home mixed with perilite. I broke my damn foot and can't run to Lowes....So

I need to transplant soon. What do you reccomend on using verm. I am out perlite and need to mix just enough soil for the bigger and last pots before flower. I'am going from 1gal pots to three gal. I have Texans humas, and spham peat moss, and of course vermiculite.

I can ajust how and when I water.

Any help?

IMO you need that perlite. You just don't get the same drainage in your soil without it.

yeah get some perlite. I cant grow with out it. Makes any soil better instantly.

Vermiculite it designed to hold water, where perlite is used for drainage. If your looking for drainage then you will need to get the perlite..........

forget the verm

use equal parts sand and loam as your base

add a few phat handfuls of peagravel (rinsed/boiled) to AERATE the mix

perlite=aerator
vermiculite=moisture retainer

verm only works great as a soil aerator....WHEN THERES NO FUCKING PLANTS GROWING IN IT!!!!

dont read the bag, use your head...verm holds more water than any other aggregate prlite holds some water but evaporates rapidly, humidifying your root zone and allowing for better drainage and soil aeration/


no matter how often you water, a mix of peat moss with no fluff is bad enough, adding verm is only going to create more problems for you, tho, may help a bit with compaction, if you absolutely have no other altrnatives (fat chance, go grab some rocks)

i used to use 50/50 coco/verm as a seedling mix--peat repels water, coco absorbs, this would NOT work anywhere near as well with peat, when it works at all...

also, peat is slightly acidic

you need to LIME your mix, above all.
