VerdantGreen's quarters - 250HPS organic mod.scrog

Love Your Work VG, I always recommend this thread to friends that are producing poor yields, shocks them all when they see what a 250's capable of, and their pulling less with more watts! You get your moneys worth for sure.

Hi VG, tons of useful information, as usual!

Does the CMH emit less heat than the HPS? Also, what kind of ballast are you using? I am under the impression that it's magnetic that runs both MH and HPS, but wasn't sure about the brand.

Thanks in advance!

Great looking personal setup man, inspiration for me to hurry up and get my 250 watt hydrohut going. What is you usual yield off of a grow in that space?

any particular reason you chose the HPS over the CMH? Would it be accurate to say that CMHs yield less that HPS bud-wise?

I've been reading into CMHs, just trying to get an opinion on them.

ChickenChaser - thats nice to hear - i like to keep it as simple as i can. i guess my soil mix has a few ingredients but you only have to mix it once per grow and it's worth getting it just right cos then everthing else comes pretty easy.

BudBag - per mudule/plant/quarter with the 250 i get a minimum of 2 oz and anything up to 4 oz. running lots of new strains keeps it quite variable. so average is around 3oz i guess.

D9_THC - yeah the CMH is a little cooler than an HPS, ballast is maxibright compact (magnetic)
Marijuanasaur - the reason why i went with HPS this time was that i could get a dual spectrum lamp for the 250 - my regular store has just started selling them. the CMH i liked, and the yield seemed strain dependent - some did just as well as HPS and others not quite so well. i will defo go back to CMH at some point and try it again, but i suspect they would work best in a multi light setup with say 2x hps and 1x CMH would work great.

Greenstar420 - thanks, as mentioned im always running new stuff and it fast becomes a perpetual setup with the modules finishing a few week apart and being replaced by new plants, but last time i counted i got about 10 oz off an average run, and with a few dialled in high yielders it would be easy to pull 3/4 pound or more.
or you could look at it as about an ounce per week :dance013:

Glodenglow1, edgey, schwagg, Guanito - thanks for stopping by, hopefully i can put on a good show :)

Dude looking good!! I'm vegging right now with a 250 in a hydro hut, going to flower in there too, might use a 400 for bloom but if heat is a issue its nice to see what a 250+scrog can do :)

hey greenstar - yeah a 250 works nicely with a 4-5 square footprint. not sure how big a hydro hut is but a 400 wants 6-8 square foot to be efficient yield wise.

great to see you snap!

hi jgrow - im in the UK so my recommendations probably wouldnt be any use to you.

what i would say is to do your homework on reflectors and make sure you get an efficient one that has the right footprint for your space - or build your space to fit the footprint of your reflector.

hey all, got some pics.

here is sourdog1 after 16 days flower - looking nice

and sourdog2 - this was the lanky one and it's shaped up ok - but i have a nasty feeling that one of the buds is going to herm. we will see. i guess that it would be a risk that comes wih these genetics.

blueberry has been in for a week/10 days - looking good. this is such a big stretcher that really i would like to train the canopy every day but that is just not possible for me at,

and the lemon thai. this suffered a little from being rootbound but will bounce back just fine. been in there 5 days or so.
