Ventilation drama, advice needed

Ok so heres there problem (if there is one)
ive got a 6"inch 425cmh can fan which will exhaust from out the roof of my grow-closet into my bigger walkincloset which it is in.

Now, in the walkincloset there is already a vent in the ceiling which sucks air out of the walkin continuously and sends it out of the roof of our building. i thought it would be perfect to exhaust straight into this vent BUT :yoinks: now on closer inspection I have discovered it is only 3.5" in diameter.

Im now thinking that reducing the ducting by almost HALF (6" down to 3.5") im going to be putting heaps of strain on my fan and making it noisy. if i just vent from the growcloset into the room that its in (the walkin) im going to be heating it (walkin) up and taking the warm air back into the growcloset making temps a prob.

i have one of these fans , i dont know the cfm/cmh cause i found it but i thought if i stick this in the roof to suck out of the room and put a vent in the door or keep the door to the walkin open it might help.

what do yall think.?? should i just reduce to 3.5 or mess about with extra fans and holes in the wall

I would say try and taper the hose down to the vent size. At least long enough to see how it acts on the fan.

I would make sure that its a slow taper and not a real abrupt one. It may work.

What size light are you going to run? If its not a 1000 watter i think it would work. Are you running a cool tube? I would think that this would all be factored in given your fan is not overworked to begin with.

I would say test run it and see what temps you are gettin, if temp are to high you can adjust all the tubing that is 3.5 to 6 inch if you have access to attic for fairly cheap. They also make can lights in the 6 inch range so if you cut the larger hole in the ceiling with a dry wall saw when your done growin you could slide the light in and cover the hole by lighting your closet. Just an idea hope it helps. SI
