Veg time for 3 gallon ~ pro mix

I'd never go from solo to 3 gallon for that very reason.

In flower, I water daily...whether it is 3 gallon or 5 gallon - but that's because my transplants are not undersized for the container they are in.

When transplanting from solo to 1 gallon - at first, I probably only water every 3rd day - but I'm also not fully saturating the media as I don't want to suffocate the roots...

It's better to slightly underwater and make the roots seek out water than to over water and prevent them from spreading at all in my opinion.

ya 3 days seems the best.

i would never hit every day in flower, i don't veg as long as you must do... I'm in tents, height restrictions, yada yada yada

plus I'm working and out bunch.... pro mix is the working mans medium , don't wanna feed like coco

I typically veg 1.5 - 2 weeks in 3 gallon from the solo. height gets maxed.. pots could be filled more with roots...

im gunna try feeding significantly less each time this round, and try to up my feed to every 2 days....

I fully agree and acknowledge that roots equal yield . and wet dry cycles equal roots

Hi, i know its old tread but good info here.
Thanks.
Dank Frank, do you have you're plants sexed when they go into the 3 gallon?
I would think so, right?

I don't understand how a person knows when to water a smallish plant in an oversized pot.I'll tell you though if you have the room,my yields increased drastically when I switched from three to 5 gal pots for flower.I use NSI pots starting in a 4 inch pot for a couple weeks, then to NSI 1200(two gallon} actually 1.6 gal for veg and sexing, then on to NSI 2000 5 gallon to flower.I let the plants veg a week or so in the 5 gal before the 12/12 switch. The yield in the 5 gal compared to 3 gal is quite a lot actually, and you only have to water every 3-4 days with large plants in 3 gallom I had to water every other day after just a week or two flowering in 3 gal.I know space is an issue for many but if you can get away with 5 gal,it's really worth it
