Veg - Buckets, Flowering - Ebb&Flow

I started off this post in another forum...asking about grow Idea's.....

This is then now, a completey scratched up....restiched version.....

The Room is a 14'-ish X 3'. Its kinda small but has cement Walls on two sides....
THe room is divided in almost half....Half of it is veg...and the other flowering....

The idea is to run a 400W HPS over a set of buckets for the Veg area....in this area we will house the mother plants and the clones before they move to the flowering room.

In the veg room we also have a 20W fluro off the celing with a shelf mounted to the wall directly under it. This is where we will put fresh clippings to start the process of growing roots. Here they will be under a plastic dome ment to keep the humidity high for their first weeds of life on their own.

The Other Side of the room is again...flowering. In here we have a 1000W MH With a Squirrl Exhaust Fan attached to it. The Fan vents out through the celing and helps to keep the bulb cool.....Also Currently in the Flowering room we are runing a Lasko High Pressure Blowering that oscelates.....it keeps the plants growing strong!

The Plan With this side..is to run a Ebb & Flow System for flowering.....Just got done with the last soil grow and everything has now been cleaned out ans is getting ready for the building of the system.....

So today...was a day off from slingin food....little bit of a project day.

I finally broke down and decided to get a can filter for the smell. Since im venting outside i needed to do somthing.....

This posed an interesting question....how do you take a exhaust blower and make it work with a can filter.

Well i got EVER so lucky....the dayton blower that I have just happens to have a peice to turn it into an inline fan....this way i can then hook it up to the can filter....


They Also make a nice mounting bracket for this as well......mounting the fan to the celing and using some of the half inch gramets for the buckets as the smei rubber feet....

Now from here We have a intake line comming to the fan and then an outake line running from the fan to the hood and then out to the outside. From here we just hook the intake hose up to the can filter and BOOM! Clean air =)



As you can see...I wentahead and mounted the can filter up near the celing (hot air rises right?) using bungie cords and some archors/eye hooks....

I my self am Happy once again with the way these projects are turning out.

Also...Heres a little snippet of the girls..One of them is already in week 4.....shes got roots comming OUT of the bottem of her bucket already =)

Well...Its time for an update.

So i havnt done much as of late...got some seeds rollin...trying to figure out the best method to sprout in these round groden's w/ the slice on the side.....some of the seeds kinda dint wanna go anywhere in it..kinda odd....

At the same time ive got a few that are taking root and its time to add them to the buckets....now what the plan was..is to keep a 9 bucket setup.....currently there are 5 down and there needs to be the addition....

I already added one of the clones to the last of the empty buckets.....and i was wanting to place a few more down...but here comes the issue......space...

One of the ladies is already so big that shes snuffing out the other plants.



The offender looks great....i need a new cam..one that dosnt hate these high amounts of light.

So She got topped off. But shes still fucking huge...shes still trying to overgrow all of the other plants.



Looks awsome from the top....she got a bit of the bleaching but its to be expected.


So I added yet another bucket...






AND Got some seedlings going.....and the tops off the the insane grower.

Well, the higher power has decided that we will be usign DWC on both sides...instead of the ebb & flood....

The flood table i was looking at was 50$ for just the table...and it wouldnt have fit as well in the current setup anyways....so their are now 6 buckets on the other side of the room with a temp res.....decided not to pick up a float yet for money constraint issues....

So now with the over grown brat that keeps trying to snuff out the other plants we decided to put two of the 6 going into flowering and drope the veg light back down...

The ones in flowering suffered some serious bleeching...due to the fact that having to keep rasing the light..made a few start to strech...and we dont want that now do we?

How effective was your new carbon scrubber?

Eliminates all of the odor going outside...this is probably the best way ive seen to killing the smell. Tho...a bigger filter is better w/ a smaller fan..surface area for the air to come in puts less stress on any fan attached.

We arnt actually using a can fan like we should be using...we have a cage fan w/ some peices you can buy from the company to make it somewhat of an inline fan...

New pics@!

I got some bugs in my clones atm....so im very unhappy.....




New pics of the veg side....the skunk x trainwreck is taking off quite nicely in the middle....the white afgani plants are keeping up as well...as this random strain we have dubbed 'sky walker' is also doing well but hella stringy...not very happy about this one....


Just about 10 days into flowering and we have one skywalker and one white afgahni.....




Looks alot bigger since the last picture eh? They shot up about 8 to 10 inches....

On the other side of things..when did it require so many damn bottles/chemicals to grow plants

Welp. Its been 3 weeks...so..time to put 2 more ladies into flowering...



Its getting a bit snug in there...the two plants that have been in there since the end of oct...have some nice buds on them...hope these go far...

trying to figure out what is going on tho...veg side looks nice and healthy...




Flowering looks a bit scarey...the ouside of the leaves and tips are dying and turning brown..must figure this out.

So No new pics atm....they are doing alright...kinda got some heat issues going on wiht the plants..gotta raise the light up......

Flushed with a product called 'Clearex'

It calls to flush the plants and then drain the runoff...its a salt leaching chemical that is sapose to help freeup nutes....after never doing a flush since i started...its been a while...so ive deicded to flush every 3 weeks....

So after the first flush...everything still looks fine...backed the ppm's off to around 400ish...

Just cut down the biggest plant....decided to throw some male flowers...guess i shouldnt have been clippin on it so much....tried to take more then 50% of the dead shit off the plant....oh well...leassons learned.

Well its been a Month since ive done an update....i have new pics, and here they are.





5 running now, 1 is about 2 weeks out of being done, another is about 3 weeks out the rest are about 5 weeks out.

Well since the last update. Cut down the 2 big ones. Looks to be about a quater pound or so of a crop. Finally got some 'Big Blue' seeds. Nl5xBlueberry from kindseed. We will see how these turn out =)

So I have gotten a new ebb and flood system Going on the veg side. Makes things super cramped. Itll be alright tho should be better for the plants

Table is 2'x4'. Rez is 40 gallons 2'x4' as well. New pump, but stronger then before. The plants are still struggling, you can see my ph post in the infirmary.

Its been literally 2 months since ive posted here. Sorry guys. Life has gotten busy.

Since ive dropped the temp of my room and changed out the water in the res more frequently, my stuff stopped dying. I did move the two root rotted plants over to the flowering side and they made it thought and produced some pretty good buds! The pic below is takings from ONE of the plants. They really can recover from root rot!




IF you are wondering how the mega crop went. It was good. Out of 6 plants, we brought out almost 5 ounces AND we lost a bunch to budrot. (I forgot to flip them in the jar for a few days, and boom, MOLD. )





I am still using the flood tray. This is working pretty well. Its 2'x4' w/ a 40 gallon res. The res is a bit oversized but whatever, keeps a good control of PH with THAT MUCH water.







I had some issues where my 400 watt died. So im using fluros now. 3 fixtures that are 4' with two bulbs each. These are of the 40 WATT varriety.









ONE of the Nl5xblueberry plants survived. ITs in the middle, taking some time to get started but its going now!

I do on the other hand think I am having problems wiht tempareture. The leaves are starting to turn lime green from the inside near the vein. Will need to investifate this more. With nothing in flowering now, there is hardly any heat in the room. Will probably throw down like one or two hundred watt regular bulbs to try and heat a little. Maybe ill go get a heat light for some lizards or somthing.

Me again. Almost 2 months later again. The plants you saw in the last pics, the big two made it into flowering. They are about 4 feet tall, and around 3 weet wide. Starting to throw some big ass buds!

The NL5xBB plant dint make the cut, it got sick again, nursed it back to life and were back in effect.

Currently there are 13 plants going, 2 in flowering and 11 sitting dormet in veg waiting to go. 6 of the 11 are ready to go into flowering now as their 2 feet tall or better. 4 more after that are about half the size and really want to go in as well. The NL5xBB is still kicking it. Its growing alot now, is super super stringy at the bottem due to some streaching to keep up with the other plants. Its healthy enough now that I just started pulling clones off of it. In a few months we will throw those into flowering!
