Nice, she sounds real good. I like that type of high for working. I got some Willie Nelson seeds that are burning some visions into my dreams of VB buds like yours in my future.

Her Last Bow

Her Last Bow

It has been a very nice run but I have harvested this beautiful specimen. She's been an absolute pleasure to hang out with since early November but it was time. This about 77 o so days from the beginning of 12/12.

attachment.php

As you can see, there is heavy resin (primarily cloudy) and swollen, dark bracts. I probably could have let her go a bit longer (I know she's listed as 12 to 14 week) but I think she was ready to go - at least following some of the principles set forth in the thread about maturity of sats. Her scent is ginger and incense. Quite beautiful.

Her branches were so heavy that she had a system of trusses to make sure all of her branches didn't fall over. Even so, gravity was in full sway. The vast majority of her pistils were brown - the white in the pictures is generally due to the resin. (Although it did look as if she might have been ramping up for another round up on top. It would have been interesting but the time, unfortunately, was not right for such an adventure.)

So far, I've been very impressed with the samples I've had of another pheno. This is potent but its not an immobilizing high. There is an electric body component but all in all quite functional and not at all stupifying which is just fine with me as I have places to go - people to see.

I really love this strain. Strong possibility I will be running her again. Soon - I have a clone or two of the first pheno and this time I will do her right.

Hope you enjoy.

Mayan, it has been quite a joy/trip to watch you grow as a grower over these years (here and elsewhere). Do not forget to take a self-congratulatory toke, and best wishes to your family.

Amazing grow mayan!
Those bat size colas reminded me of a Ace girl that i found on a ACE mix pack from 2008.
Can you feel any ripe mangoes coming out of her?
Impressive work anyhow, congrats and please let us know how did she smoke ;)

...she's being grown in a 3 gallon smart pot in coco. She's under a 1000wt light that's running 11/13...

I ran my Zamadelica's on a 11/13 schedule and im just getting ready to start some of the VBT finally but curious if I should drop my schedule to 11/13 again or if they will finish fine under 12/12.

the extra hr is no problem loosing on my other girls if the VBT will do better on a 11/13 schedule.

peace

Hey chappie, Randy, paulo, Morcheeba and dubi (The Patriarch!). Thanks for your kind words! Morcheeba, I don't know how to answer your question, my guess is that 12/12 would be just fine for VbxT. I grew out Orient Express under 12/12 (Vietnam black genetics, as well) and she was magnificent. What I don't know is whether the 11/13 might have a good effect on bud density and size of bud...my gut says "yes" but that is neither scientifically based nor based on much experience, etc.

So, last night was jar night, as she begins her cure. It went late so I apologize for the photo quality -besides I have no idea what I'm doing with a camera. Oh well, this should give you an under-the-hood look. I note that her leaf color with tinged with dark - as were her bracts. I don't know if this is where the "black" in Vietnames Black comes from but there you have it.

Enjoy!!

Beautiful mayan :) Your plant is without any doubt Vietnam Black dominant: the yield, growing traits, flowering structure and color of the matured flowers .. they are all Vietnam Black traits. The flowers look yummy :yummy: Enjoy!

VbxT - The Return

VbxT - The Return

Hey all...Just took down the clone of my first VbxT - this one was grown out substantially better than the mom plant, although my need to travel during two major health crises involving family did result in a little nutritional stress in my absence as one can see from the leaves on the bud picture. Oh well...priorities!! What are you gonna do?

attachment.php

She was grown in coco, under a 1K HPS, in a 3 gallon smart pot. I used -primarily- Botanicare products - Pure Blend Pro and Liquid Karma. I think that she went about 80 (or so days) under 12/12. She was very easy to grow and put up with stressors magnificently.

Sorry that I haven't been able to do my normal grow log or regale the board with pictures but -as I said- priorities dictate. I haven't sampled this iteration yet but will try to carve out some time after the cure.

Hey all...Thanks so much for the kind feedback! I am happy to report that having partaken of a small sample, I am much delighted. The high is electric in mind and body and has legs - the high stretches out for quite a while. I don't know where I got the impression that this was lightweight cannabis - it is not. Can't wait to let the cure do its thing!

I realize I could have taken it longer but -hey! situations and responsibilities demanded otherwise. A couple of factors, however: she was under an 11/13 light regimen for most of her flowering - I think she matured a bit quicker. While there were white pistils still coming, this was a sativa that seems to flower in stages -hence, I would opine that there are a few windows of harvest opportunity. This has actually -to my taste- been looking pretty mature - i.e. the glands were primarily milky and looking that they were beginning to decline. So - chop! chop! I'm glad I did - this is superb.

Hi rudiger (sorry but I don't know how to umlaut)...
Thanks for the tip of the hat.

I water by hand. I have very few going at the same time so it's
kind of a pleasure to get to know them up close
and personal. A little "us" time.

nice grow mayan. was wondering what your first impression of the VBT smoke is compared to DJ's F13. I think if there's anything out there that'll top my old keeper Flo from Ace's camp it will be a VB pheno of VBT. From charlie's camp mextiza hands down.

Great work mayan  as usual in your garden ;)

Looks like she exploded in flowering! There are some very interesting and high yielding Vietnam Black dominant pheno in this hybrid, half of the plants have a very sweet taste that even improves the VB mum in this sense. I'm glad the plant is not only about the yield, but you also are enjoying the effect. Thanks for sharing another great ace ride!
