value of male hermaphrodites in breeding

My male hermie was G13skunk he actually reverted to female then after i stressed him he reverted back to male...i spoke to Reeferman about this in Dam and he told me it is due to a hormone* called Ethiline (sp?) (too much of) and he said if i had stressed the plant in the first place it would have prevented it i did it anyway and thats when it reverted back to male.
I have about a hundred selfed seeds from this plant...im sure i have un-uploaded pics of him so i will sort em out...
*Dont quote me on wether it was a hormaon or chemical i cant remeber but it was probably a hormone...
Peace

I believe that may have been a female that reversed sex before you flowered it. You don't want to use any plant that fully reverses sex for breeding.

Hmm,very interesting.

A male I have has shown some pistils at around 18 days flowering which is why I posted a question regarding this and was kindly directed to this thread by Discobiscuit.

I think I'd have to contact DJ Short directly to get the lowdown on this but it was purely an intellectual inquiry as the project I'm working on is at the second backcross stage and see no reason really to use this plants pollen even for a small selective pollination to check things out as it won't get me where I want to be any quicker.
