Usps prepaid boxes...

SWIM has 10 Large "Flat-rate" boxes sitting next to SWIM...NONE have SWIM's address pre-addressed on them and SWIM uses a fake return address (Of and old asshat of a boss LOL) on the label the post office gave me.

SWIM has NEVER had any personal information on any package that "hypothetically" left the state.

Absolutely! SWIM has always done exactly the same. I was talking specifically about prepaid flat-rate boxes. I purchased the prepaid ones on the USPS website, which requires an account. When I received the boxes in the mail, my name and address were already printed on them.

SWIM bought some of these https://www.usps.com/ship/priority-mail-flat.htm before and was able to put things in them and then just drop in a public mailbox. The boxes are for sure real (and cheap).

You can't drop anything that weighs more than 13 ounces in a box. Those have to go to the counter. Maybe you're not using USPS--their mailing products are free.

I think that 13z might not be a good idea. Just imo.

Yeah USE odd weights, my friend in the San Jose sorting center tells me "sometimes" packages weighing spot on 1 lb or even numbers are inspected closer....SWIM always ships odd weights even if SWIM had to add weight to the prepaid flat-rate boxes and SWIM NEVER orders them from the online PO site.

SWIM told me it has been working fine for years :muahaha:

If it makes you sweaty, then don't mail 13 ounces of weed. However, I assume you understand that secure packaging materials weigh something too...don't you? My friend mails items in carefully packaged glass, which is odorless but not weightless.

So, once more, slowly this time.....you can drop any package weighing less than 13 ounces total in a mailbox. Just apply Priority Mail stamps. It does not get easier or more anonymous. The Priority Mail flat-rate bubble envelopes are excellent for this, but you have to order them on the USPS website because they're not available at postal centers. If this makes you uneasy, then don't order 'em. Use the readily available but NOT flat-rate Tyvek envelopes, but be absolutely positive you've affixed the correct postage or your package is going to be returned to an address not your own. If it weighs more than 13 ounces (including TOTAL contents of package, not just contraband items), it has to go to the counter. Which is not a big deal in the slightest, but seems to make some people anxious.

Not feeling nervous? Priority Mail flat-rate boxes (Medium and Large) are the way to go for those shipping, say, several quart jars. No, you don't have to order the boxes online. You can grab stacks of 'em free at postal centers across the land. What a country. :)

So, full circle to the first question in the thread: yes, prepaid postage does exist, but no, you cannot use it anonymously--and it's unnecessary for smaller items that weigh less than 13 oz total. For that, buy Priority Mail postage stamps ($5.15 each) at any postal counter. My friend says a flat-rate bubble mailer costs $5.30 to mail, regardless of weight. He says one ounce would fit easily in a glass jar, which in turn he would pack in a metal coffee or paint can. It would weigh more than 13 ounces but would be child's play to mail. My friend should know, having done this literally a couple thousand times over the years.

Yes you can...

Grab a prepaid cc, hit the kiosk inside the Post Office and buy what stamps you need, anonymous...

OR use the USPS Click N Ship, with a TOR@ other precautions, using those prepaid stamps you just bought anonymously at the post office...

OR use the USPS web site itself, with TOR and other precautions, using a prepaid CC to pay for the shipments you make, anonymous once again...

OR use stamps.com with TOR again, using prepaid CC, anonymous. Stamps.com is actually cheaper then USPS website..

And remember, ALWAYS use a business name to ship...

AND, ALWAYS have a legit return address. NOT to you, but a legit return addy, preferably to someone that would consume the goods, and not call the cops, ie - a tattoo shop, smoke shop ect...

Great thread

Swim said the most important part is...not to cross contaminate

Switch gloves and rooms at every step

When dropping off at the PO...You can wear band aids during summer or gloves in winter. (you don't want pesky prints on the box)

Use a real name n addy... Just check the yellow pages. (better than going online)

Remember... What your trying to do, is not leave a trail. No trail back to you, and no trace of where the box contents came from.

Waive the signature, and be sure the receiver understands, not to sign off for anything. If they want your Hancock, the jigs up. walk away and don't say a word.

Do this and even in a worst case scenario, everyone walks away.

Interesting thread. Just out of curiosity, would this also be an ideal method for clones? I always wondered if the cut would die being in an airtight container for a few days.

Ding ding ding. Winner winner chicken dinner.....FYI you can also get a prepaid CC and (with fedex) put that cc# on the shipping lable. From then on you drop at any of the drop boxes that are pretty much everywhere. They charge the shipping to your card. Its Completely anonymous.

I've never done this (I'm dead serious) but know people who have successfully. I always thought they'd need a name for this to go with the CC but apparently they just weigh it and throw the CC# in the computer. So long as it's approved it ships.

I guess I'm just too paranoid for that line of work but it must be REAL nice to accommodate out of state peeps and get some real good tickets for your herb...

Nothing new here--I already mentioned stamps. No need to go to such lengths to pay for them anonymously, stamps are perfectly legal (and untraceable). My buddy puts on his big boy pants and pays cash for them at the counter. Funny thing, nobody ever assumes he is going to use 'em to send contraband in the mail.

This is clear as mud, but OK. *shrug* Also, I imagine Click n Ship requires an account, does it not? So does Stamps.com and USPS.com. Even if not--in my friend's long experience, there is nothing more anonymous than cash. He brings heavier boxes to the counter and pays cash. Lighter things go in the mailbox, stamped. The stamps paid for with, ding ding ding, cash. It's proven, has worked for my friend several hundred times over, so I think he's gonna stick with it for the time being. :tiphat:

The people I know that do this sort of stuff are borderline religious about how they send it out. Same way EVERY TIME.

I personally feel the best way would be as anonymously as possible. Which is why I mentioned the drop box/fedex method and how it can be done completely anonymously.

Don't get me wrong i have friends that go up to the counter but if you can avoid doing this then you can remain pretty much completely anonymous.
You can fit Just about 2 elbo's in that large USPS box no problem but All it takes is the Feds intercepting 1 package and then going back and reviewing surveillance tapes to see who sent out that package. Of course they're prob not gonna do this over a couple lbs but you never know.

Shit, they might even Let you keep doing it and just keep a tally and build a case on you. That's where their time and money is best well spent. Then those 2 elbo's a week turn into 104 a year. Happens all the time.

In the end I guess whatever works best for you is the best way to do it.

Umm, ya, they require an account, ever heard of using all fake info to set up an account?

And your boy with the big boy pants, every time he goes to the counter, he is on camera, about 8 of them, PLUS his fingerprints on everything....

Whoever goes to the counter to do this kind of business, hasn't a clue on what to do, its clear by that action alone...

Id much rather have all prepaid postage on the boxes and spend 14 seconds, putting everything in the drop boxes, then to ACTUALLY talk and do transactions with a live person at the post office, but some people like to do it the hard way for some reason....

Umm, ya, I have. It's totally unnecessary for buying postage, especially if you're doing it just to avoid a trip to the window--a trip you'll have to make, in any case, because you can't drop items weighing more than 13 ounces in a box.

Not a problem. He's careful not to wear a sign with his name and address around his neck.

He's succeeded so many hundreds of times, I suspect he has a pretty good clue. :tiphat:

Buy USPS priority prepaid padded envelope. Buy the priority prepaid forever stamps ($5). Pick up a blank to and from label. Go home, put seeds inside altoid tin, stick in padded envelope. Use slightly different address and fake name. Drop in. Blue box. Done.

On a somewhat related note, although not about shipping weed specifically, this is more about the increased costs of shipping anything.

I bought a little leather ipad keyboard/case through ebay for $24. The keyboard was bluetooth and the battery was completely dead and needed to be charged...I thought. Wouldn't take a charge and showed a red indicator light and would just shut off. The instructions only talked about a yellow light. I tried everything I could think of to get it to charge, nothing worked. I emailed the company and they sent an RMA # (BTW the first reply sent back to the company's response was blocked by ebay as some security "buyer protection" bullshit. I didn't even see they blocked it until the following day after it was sent. Absolute crap.) Anyway, so I packaged up the item back into the USPS mail-envelope it came in, put the whole thing in a manilla envelope, and drove down to the post office. I told the clerk I wanted to ship it the cheapest way possible. He said, "That's parcel post. That'll be $8.35. I said, "Whoa. I'll just use one of those prepaid boxes. He said, "That'll take a medium size box and that's $11.35." I just grabbed my package and left. So, from $5.15 for a box jumping to $11.35 for the next size? Nearly twice as much. DUH. No wonder they're going broke. If it fits it ships my ass. :moon: I just decided this is getting more and more stupid and I wanted no part of it anymore. I decided to just cut my losses right there, and might only get less than half what I already spent back for this fiasco, and pittance at that. How much is my time and my getting pissed-off worth?

So, that's my story. I hope it helps someone.
