The fans are actually of better quality than they look , two ball bearings supporting a spring loaded shaft.
Oiled and reassembled it sounds fine but probably not for long , they may have been dry from new.

These are the precision designed lenses that claimed to focus the light deep into the canopy , aka plastic nipples clagged on with silicone sealent.

Given the number that were crossthreaded or stripped from overtightening it suggests they were put in by a poorly set machine or by a careless hand.

Just openned up the shiny metal driver box cover on a recent QB and the internal components look the same as this , little advance over time which i find supriseing

When it comes to tightening elements to a heatsink i had some fairly good advice from the old growmau5 vids: you meed it tight, but not overly tight, as this may actually bend your strip/cob/pcb which could lift it from contact. Use wrist strength, not elbow or shoulder strength, and check the contact as you go along. Dont overdo tightening its much easier than you think and its not at all as much as when you would tighten structural elements to eachother. And obviously wipe both surfaces down before attaching and with high watt/low area use some thermal paste.
