Hey any information on distance from plants? What are you keeping the distance at? any light burn issues or heat concerns?

Around 22". I'm in stretch so that distance could have gone down. No burn but I'll let you know when they wake up. I was told I could keep it as close as 12" without issue though the dispersion would suffer.

It's as cool or cooler than my SS 315w LEC CMH.

Hehe they are supposed to be 1600 in center and 450-500 on edges so it is definitely a lot. Great we have some sort of report to go off and someone who can obviously grow a plant that doesn't look like it went through a hurricane and nuclear fallout.

Great to hear about the heat! Wen I bought my gavitas everyone said they were much cooler. Yeah fuckin right...a little cooler than the sun and that was just 600's. Will never forget that waste of money.

Thanks. This is my third grow and while I definitely have a lot to work on, I'll take this as a compliment haha.

It definitely puts out less heat from the light than my 315cmh. You can feek the radiant heat from the heatsinks, for sure. You can touch them but they are pretty hot. I'll get some IR readings for you guys here tonight.

One thing I found somewhat entertaining (and stupid) was if you stick your hand 6" under the light and look at your palm, you burn your retina. Won't be doing that again  :D

Just an update of sorts. Spoke with Ken at Starlite today. My lights shipped today and I have my UPS Tracking. Alex is no longer with the company so I guess those free Helios fixtures he promised for the delay are probably not going to happen. Did not think to ask Ken about that while we were on the phone though.

Hello everyone here on ICMag! It is unfortunate that I have to tell you all that Alex Lau has taken his leave from our company.

My name is Ken, and I will be the new contact here on IC mag helping answer any questions, etc..

Firstly, I must apologize to everyone on here for the lack of communication on our part. The re branding process from Starlite to URSA has been hectic and with Alex taking his leave, it left a hole to be filled at a time where we could not afford any cracks.

Second, I'm going to address the issue with the pre orders for the Optilux. Rest assured that all our shipping issues have been hammered out for now. Almost all of the pre orders have been shipped out.

If you have not received tracking information or a phone call from myself, please email me at [email protected] and I will be glad to help you out.

Thank you all for your patience, the hard part is almost over! I look forward to being part of this great community!

Hi deepfriedbutter,

Probably a good idea to keep it atleast 22" away from the plants until they get a little bit bigger. I wouldn't recommend putting the light at 12". That is just to say that if your plants were to grow significantly over night that being at closer than 12" wouldn't cause any problems.

Nice plants BTW:good:

Thanks. I have since raised them to about 28" where I feel the light is more well distributed. Less of a hot spot in the center.

Did we meet when I visited there?

Well unfortunate for Alex. I can say he handled himself with me very well and was always extremely informative and on point on the boards, but I am sure the company had its reason.

This is fantastic news on the other hand and I am glad to hear I will finally have my lights and a little less stress for all of us involved hah.

Hi starke,

I will honor the free Helios fixtures that Alex promised before he took his leave. Anybody that has pre ordered through Alex on ICMag will receive a free Helios 100W fixture from us to compensate for the delay.

It is my intention to make this right and to prove to everyone here that we are who we say we are and are not fucking around in this industry. :peacock:

I will be in contact with those who I've shipped pre orders to and again if you placed a pre order but have not received tracking information, please contact me at [email protected] and I will help you out. :good:

I was the tallest person in our meeting, not sure if that will help you remember my face hah. :tiphat:

Lights apparently arrived sometime within the last few days. If you ordered a lot of these be prepared for huge stacks heh. The boxes are 4 times bigger than I imagined. Glad they are here and I can't wait to see what they do. This is definitely a solid build on these lights. They do have some weight to them but great profile on them. So glad be done with huge hoods and fuckin ducting.

Great to see you got your lights ok!

Let me know if you have any questions about the light, please note that you should try to keep the lights as far away from the plants as possible while they adjust to the LEDs to avoid light stress. Once they've begun to grow a little and have more root production, then lower the light back down to the recommended 2-3 feet range.
