Ya gotta be careful with that stuff!.. it goes down like a kiddie drink, but it packs a pretty good wollup.. not sure what the abv is on Mike's, but I think it's around or above 6%..

yep, definately easy to drink more than you thought with them, especially if you don't have much of a tolerance.

What is your favourite beer???

What is your favourite beer???

I have to say I really love washing down a joint with some top quality ale. To me, nothing describes the perfect after work evening better than coming home to a well cured stash, some awesome beers/ales and my girls really f%&king delicious cooking. (which is quite often actually-she's Australian Chinese and her mum taught her to cook and her food is a shitload better than any of the Chinese restaurants in the area plus she's got a really wicked stash of Italian recipes that would put some Italian Grannies to shame, no joke) Of course there are other thing I love doing but that's private and we don't swing! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else here has a love of beers/ales/stouts as much as I do. I mean I love my ales almost as much as I love my bud. Of course bud would win the "what would you take to a desert Island" test hands down but I enjoy all of life's gifts and fine alcohol (not getting brained then crashing the car) is high on my list of life's best things. I'm a real snob when it comes to my beers. If its less than 7.0% alc/vol I usually won't touch it unless I'm offered and being polite. I love strong, full bodies ales like Belgian Abbey Ales made by Trappist monks and so on. I know it's ridiculous but I prefer quality over quantity as I never get drunk, only tipsy and that isn't a lie. Until recently I have stuck mainly to Belgian ales with a few exceptions, mainly Australian craft beers/ales and the odd this or that which the local bottle shop recommends to me. I never ever thought anything worth drinking would come outta the States until recently when I was introduced to Sierra Nevada "Torpedo" India Pale Ale which not only stunned the taste buds with it's complex and brilliantly balanced mix of malt, hops and barley (assuming that's all they use) but also totally redefined my outlook on where good golden ale can come from. So I ask you, what do you drink (if you drink at all that is) and how do you drink it. What makes a good beer in your opinion and if you had to choose 1 brew that was the only brew you could ever drink, what would it be?
Oh and just incase you read this and thought "lazy prick getting his girl to cook" we switch days, I cook somedays, she otherdays. Now you can read it and call me a panzy, he cooks for his mrs??? hahahaha!!!! pussywhipped!!! I can't win, that's life!

EDIT: This post was from a thread merged into this one... Doesn't make as much sense here :D

I love trying all different kinds of beers, but find myself drinking mostly hoppy IPAs these days.

Here's some of my favorite beers you would be able to find at a decent beer & wine store in the states, but unsure how widely available these are down under -

Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/112/412

Two Hearted Ale - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/287/1093

60 Minute IPA - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/64/6108

Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/39/131

Saranac Black Forest - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/99/321

New Holland The Poet - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/335/8322

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/209/752

Smuttynose IPA - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/141/16403
